It’s all about the glamour. You can’t quite put your finger on it, but some clubs just have it. Combine beautiful people with a beautiful setting and great food and good music and you are in the right area.
An exclusive Firefly Collection villa is all about private luxury, but that doesn’t mean we are not a fan of a beach club. Maybe for an indulgent lunch or a stylish afternoon drink, or perhaps go all in and book sunbeds to be your base for the day, a beach club visit should be on your agenda during your luxury villa holiday.
We have picked five of the most exclusive beach clubs in Europe to complement your stay at one of Firefly Collection’s luxury villas.
An easy day-trip from Ibiza, the chic Gecko Beach Club is located on Mitjorn Beach on the colourful Mediterranean island of Formentera, and it enjoys direct access to the legendary white-sand beach. Doubling as a boutique hotel and a yoga retreat, the club offers a swimming pool, restaurant, terrace bar, day bed service, and event planning. Guests from the nearby island of Ibiza can access the venue directly from their luxury yachts or water taxi from Ibiza Town.

Nammos perfectly encapsulates stylish Mediterranean luxury, and has received international attention from the press for doing so. Situated on Psarou Beach in Mykonos in Greece, the iconic beach club is invariably populated with members of the international jet set, the result of which is a bay full of luxury yachts. The club offers two discernable dining experiences – one relaxed, one resembling a party – and serves up a sumptuous menu that has been influenced by its Mediterranean surroundings. The VIP concierge service caters for your every need, making it one of the most exclusive beach clubs in Europe.

Paloma Beach on Saint Jean Cap Ferrat – one of the French Riviera’s most illustrious hangouts – is an exclusive beach club that regularly fills with members of the international jet set, making for an eclectic crowd of discerning revellers. The Guardian described the beach as being ‘calm, chic and sheltered,’ which goes some way in explaining why it has been a favoured spot for holidaying celebrities for decades. In the height of summer, Paloma Beach is the only place to soak up the sun.

Established in 1949, the renowned beach club of Fontelina has been a popular hangout for a discerning select for decades. The island of Capri is regarded as one of Italy’s most luxurious destinations, in part due to such establishments as Fontelina, which is built on the rocky southern coast. The restaurant serves an array of seafood-based dishes and has changed very little since 1949. The beach club’s iced sangria is practically famous.

At Club 55 on St Tropez’s Pamplona Beach, the service is provided with the ethos that the customer is not king because he is a friend. And so the ambience of the club follows suit, making guests feel at home on the luxurious sunbeds of the revered institution. Club 55 has been the subject of a documentary, which exemplifies its legendary status on the European beach club scene. The ultimate destination for summer luxury, the venue hosts some of the most exclusive beach parties in Europe.
