Our Top 10 Ski Chalets with Swimming Pools

bt1 bt3

There's something rather wonderful about coming home after a day's skiing, crow barring of those infernal boots from your tired feet and gingerly descending the stairs from your luxury ski chalet into the swimming pool.

Firefly Collection has a number of exquisite luxury ski chalets dotted around the Alps whose swimming pools are to die for.

Here’s our top 10 favourites luxury ski chalets with a swimming pool

1. Le Petit Palais, Courchevel 1850

Fewer luxury ski chalets in the Alps can boast the level of lavish extravagance that Le Petit Palais can. The name doesn't lie: it is palatial throughout and no mistake. Nowhere within the confines of this masterpiece of design is it more so than on the lower ground floor. The swimming pool is extraordinary; surrounded by grey marble pillars and fine tile and stone work, the setting is divine and complements the ultra marine waters of the swimming pool elegantly. The spa, Hammam and sauna are a wondrous addition to the space and are sure to keep you pampering yourself long into the evening.

2. La Bergerie, Courchevel 1850

The swimming pool area at La Bergerie is beautiful; fact. Set in the lower ground floor of this stunning luxury ski chalet in Courchevel 1850, the 20 metre swimming pool with its ever changing underwater light show, numerous luxurious seating areas and cascading waterfalls oozing out of the marble walls combine together like foie gras, fig jam and Sauternes to create a sumptuous arena for relaxation. No swimming pool would be complete without a neighbouring spa, Hammam and sauna, all of whom join their larger sibling in this really rather splendid room.

3. Chalet Marco Polo, Val D’Isere

The first time I glanced at a photograph of the swimming pool of the luxury ski chalet Marco Polo, the first word I uttered was, “Wow!”. Then I went there and spent most of the week with my mouth open. The wellness area is a special combination of salvaged wood, intricate mosaics and an ornate ceiling that Michaelangelo would be pretty chuffed with. The jet stream swimming pool has been given a lavish extravagance with gold leaf detail and the half moon windows overlooking the valley from the bubbles of the hot tub will ensure you spend many hours in what is arguably the finest spa in Val d’Isere.

4. Chalet Grande Corniche, Les Gets

As blends of old and new go you’d have to scour the Alps to find a better example than that of Chalet Grand Corniche. This new build chalet in the family resort of Les Gets has undertaken the radical option of an outdoor swimming pool. Brrr, I hear you cry. Nonsense. This designer Infinity swimming pool has a limitless edge and is set amongst snowy surrounds affording you the feeling of being part of nature’s own valley and mountains. The glass front also gives a unique feel and the accompanying hot tub and contemporary wood, glass and steel Alpine home overlook the spot to make it one of the finest luxury ski chalets with a swimming pool in the Savoyard region.

5. Chalet Edelweiss  - Courchevel 1850

Set over seven fabulous floors, Chalet Edelweiss can be considered the absolute ultimate in luxury ski chalets, and of course a chalet of this caliber would not be complete without an entire floor dedicated to a jaw-dropping pool and spa area. When you enter this floor via the internal elevator you are welcomed by stunning blue water and cascading natural light which floods in through the perfectly centered sky light above the pool. Should you tire of swimming or splashing around, take your pick of places to relax, from the steam room, hammam, jacuzzi or massage room. With a ski-in/ski-out position on the Bellecote piste, Chalet Edelweiss sets the standard for luxury ski chalets in Courchevel 1850.

6. Chalet Mont Tremblant, Meribel

If Infinity Swimming Pools are on your wish list for your luxury ski holiday then the outdoor bath at Chalet Mont Tremblant will have you booking before you know it. Found in a charming setting in the village of Meribel, Chalet Mont Tremblant is spread across three buildings all sharing a glorious view across the valley. The outdoor area has been thoughtfully built using local timber for decking that envelope the infinity pool and also forms a pyramid of steps up to the lavish chlorine free hot tub. With two jet streams, the swimming pool is one of the finest places in Meribel for a little glass of something chilled brought to you by one of the super efficient staff.

7. Chalet Lhotse, Val d’Isere

As wellness areas go, the spa at the luxury ski Chalet Lhotse in Val d’Isere is a work of art. There can be few more welcoming places to chill out after a day on the piste than in a warm swimming pool armed with a cold beer watching a movie on a large projector screen. Failing that you could always fizz away in the accompanying hot tub or for the ultimate in relaxation, take a massage before an aperitif on the balcony overlooking the mesmerising snowscape outside. Surrounded by flickering candles and soothing music, this space will be a popular choice when considering a week of ski and serenity.

8. Chalet Dent Blanche, Verbier

Edgeless swimming pools don't always have to be outside. The large and exquisite infinity pool in Chalet Dent Blanche is a thing of immediate beauty and takes pride and place in the basement. The pool is seemingly carved into superb stonework on one side and falls away into the abounding view outside on the other. With pyramids of white towels, south facing loungers, ambient lighting not to mention the accompanying spa, Hammam and sauna, the wellness area at Chalet Dent Blanche is a cracker – one of Verbier’s finest luxury ski chalets with a swimming pool.

9. Chalet Coquelicot, Verbier

Modern chic is the theme at Chalet Coquelicot, one our absolute favourite of Courchevel 1850’s many luxury ski chalets. No need for all that timber nonsense when your architect has vision like this. Nestled in the lower floor of this stylish sanctuary, the swimming pool area at Chalet Coquelicot has been decked out in sleek stonework to contrast the traditional wooden chalet feel above. Subtle alternating lighting changes the mood and theme throughout your visit and the gentle trickle of lapis lazuli water oozing from the stainless steel waterfalls into the swimming pool and neighbouring spa create a space fit for Cleopatra.

10. Chalet White Pearl, Val d’Isere

Intricate stone work, statement sculptures and giant cheese plants coalesce to form a wellness area of stunning refinement at Chalet White Pearl, a beautiful luxury ski chalet with a swimming pool in Val d’Isere, France. The cyanic waters of the swimming pool are a temptation beyond many to resist. Should you win that battle you could always park up on one of the many plush loungers and watch a movie on the nearby cinema screen or chill out in the steam room. It’s a lavish space that has been thoughtfully designed and majestically created.
