Chamonix is a resort renowned for its off-piste powder skiing. This resort is a great choice for confident intermediate and expert skiers. The resort is fragmented with five separate ski areas. The green runs around Altiport are a great place to get your ski legs and the network of blue and red runs in Courchevel 1650 are beautiful and the ideal area to build your confidence. With steeps and moguls at the top of the Saulire gondola, there’s plenty to keep the more accomplished skier entertained.

The gentle green slopes around the Altiport area are the perfect introduction to skiing. Intermediates will enjoy exploring the vast Les Trois Vallées ski area and there are plenty of challenging blacks and scary couloirs to keep the experts entertained.

The Nasserein area is gentle and ideal for beginners. Intermediates can make their way to the quiet Rendl area to find their feet and there are plenty of marked un-groomed pistes divided into ‘normal’ and ‘extreme’ to challenge the experts.

Linked to Tignes, Val d’Isère has a wide variety of terrain to suit all abilities. The top of Solaise offers some excellent beginner slopes serviced by covered magic carpets and the black runs here really are a challenge to expert skiers wishing to push themselves.
