Some would say that Morzine is the perfect family friendly ski resort, due to its Alpine charm and first class facilities. It is - you could argue - neither too loud, nor too quiet. Lovely old village houses and creaking wooden barns still stand as testament to Morzine’s pastoral origins, but beneath the surface is a thrumming, year-round, action-packed resort. Set at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski region, it is mostly made up of luxury chalets, offering a great choice to families and groups of friends alike.

If you are looking for chalets close to Geneva, then Morzine is for you. Being only an hour and a half away from Geneva airport gives it the edge over other resorts when it comes to easy access, making it an excellent choice for a long weekend. You can choose between traditional, boutique chic or achingly hip styles of chalet, some of which are ski-in, ski-out. Perhaps the coolest of these is Chalet Igloo where you can immerse yourself in New York loft style luxury, in a perfect position beside the Pleny piste. It comes with a full team of hosts, chauffeur and cleaner, and sleeps up to 11 people.

The skiing is a broad mix of the gentle and the challenging, with an impressive array of links to neighbouring resorts within the Portes du Soleil area. One day you can conquer the picturesque slopes of Les Gets, while the next you can ski over to Avoriaz and Chatel, or hop across the Swiss border to Morgins. There are also several nursery slopes and children’s ski clubs in this family friendly ski resort.

Morzine is popular in the summer too, with visitors making use of the beautiful luxury chalets as a base for mountain biking, walking and relaxing. A larger group might like to kick back at the newly-built Chalet M with room for 16 people and run by a team of staff. With their spectacular views over the valley and short transfer times, the luxury chalets of Morzine are extremely attractive.
