Courchevel’s huge new Aquamotion Centre is days away from opening. With the start of the season on the 5th December, this year Courchevel has topped all other resorts with this high altitude experience.

Located in the Three Valleys, between Courchevel Village (1550) and Courchevel Moriond (1650), this water park has been designed to fit in effortlessly with the picturesque mountain setting. With a 25m swimming pool, a four-lane water slide, outdoor and indoor lagoons, as well as a 110m-long ‘Wild River’, a 4m diving pool and a baby swimming pool, you’ll be forgiven if you end up staying here all day and skipping out on skiing entirely. Not to be missed, it will also have an indoor ‘surfing wave’, the first of its kind in France.

This centre is not only about the water sports, the wellbeing centre is just as spectacular, with everything from massage rooms, saunas and steam baths, to a salt-water pool, an outdoor Jacuzzi and a Caladarium (whatever this is!). Why not spend an afternoon soothing your aching muscles with a massage and a soak after a day on the slopes?

And if after all of this you’re feeling a bit peckish, Aquamotion has that covered too with two brand new restaurants. The first, a restaurant and lounge bar is set apart from the water sports and wellness area, and is managed by the team behind Nikki Beach in St Tropez. The other, a snack bar, will be accessible from the main water sports area and is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat in between your surfing session.

More information on prices and passes will be released shortly on their website so be sure to check it out and treat yourself to a day of aqua-fun.
