Anna Sampson and Annabel Hunter recently took a trip to Verbier to see one of the most luxurious resorts in the Alps. They've picked out their favourite parts of their trip away.

Arriving in Verbier to blue skies and a fresh covering of snow, we could see it was clear why Verbier is one of the best resorts in the Alps. The resort was slowly coming to life, and still a little in shock about the change in weather over the last week!

If you’re looking for the perfect family chalet then Chalet Corniche is fabulous. It’s a short walk from the Savoleyers chair lift, but also comes with a 24 hour driver, so you won’t have to walk in your ski boots if you don’t want to. The chalet is surprisingly spacious, leaving lots of room for everyone to do their own thing, whether that’s playing in the swimming pool, relaxing in the spa, snuggling up in the TV room or taking in the mountain air whilst in the outdoor hot tub.  We thought this chalet would be perfect for families as it’s in such a convenient location as well as having all the facilities you could ever wish for.

If you want to be in the centre of it all, then Chalet Dent Blanche is the one for you. It is just moments away from the main roundabout in the heart of Verbier, but it’s discreetly tucked away amongst the trees so your privacy is not compromised. We’d describe this chalet as ‘snow-kissed luxury’ with its fluffy rugs and faux fur cushions, it’s cosy, rustic and luxurious all at the same time. There is so much space for everyone to enjoy, whether that be in the grand living room, the TV snug or the cinema room with a drop down screen for some great late night movie viewings. With spacious bedrooms, an extensive spa area with a vast pool and a private lift you’ll feel like you’re in your own private boutique hotel.

Sometimes it’s the unexpected that really impress you, and for us that was Chalet Sherwood. You would struggle to not to fall in love with this chalet when you arrive. From the peaceful location to the stunning views over the valley, the chalet is picture perfect. When inside it is clear that this chalet has been designed with luxury in mind. Sink back into the plush sofas or the super comfy beanbags, whilst your chef prepares your evening meal, and you’ll never want to leave. But we can guarantee that there will be a battle for the master bedroom with it’s raised bed and sunken bathtub, best get in quick!

But the main talk about town is the new chalet with Verbier’s largest indoor swimming pool. Let us introduce Chalet Chouqui. This is a new luxury chalet for this season, and is completely breath taking. The state-of-the-art cinema room, with surround sound and reclining seats, could ruin all other cinema experiences for you. Or maybe al-fresco living is more your thing, at Chouqui there’s a huge outdoor terrace, with faux fur rugs as well as an outdoor hot tub. And don’t worry about slipping up on the snow, there’s underground heating outside. Every little detail is thought of here. Your team of staff will be on hand for everything you need, and they’re as excited about this chalet as we are.

Two restaurants which we thought were great in the valley were Le Carrefour Restaurant and Le Vieux Verbier. We can definitely recommend the Rostis at both, but be prepared for wanting to do nothing with the rest of your afternoon expect chat, drink and enjoy the views.
