Destination Guide: Tignes les Brévières

About Tignes les Brévières

Tignes les Brévières is an attractive village below the main resort of Tignes, but linked in to the enormous Espace Killy ski area which also encompasses the Val d'Isère ski area.

Tignes les Brévières is much quieter than its larger brother up the mountain, but much more family-friendly and certainly has more charm. There is a collection of ski shops, ski schools, bars, restaurants and a cash point.

The highest peak is the Grande Motte at 3400m and the high altitude makes this one of the most snow-sure ski areas, but just in case there are over 200 snow canons.

Having such an extensive ski area at your disposal means there really is plenty of first class skiing for all levels. Beginners are well catered for with a free drag lift on the Brévières nursery slope. Once up at Lavachet and Tignes le Lac there are further easy nursery slopes and plenty of gentle blues, one of which brings you back to the village centre.

Intermediates will be in heaven, with a huge selection of options. There are dozens of well groomed blues and reds, wide runs and narrow routes through the trees. Take your pick.

For the advanced skier, Tignes is an off piste paradise. From moguls to powder, there is so much to get your teeth into, and many challenging black runs to test your skills against.

Best places to eat and drink in Tignes les Brévières

Tignes les Brévières has a handful of bars and restaurants which have a relaxed mountain atmosphere and serve many of the excellent Savoyard mountain specialities.
