Description
San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge, once a hunting lodge dating back to the sixteenth century, has been painstakingly restored it back to its former splendor by the owners, Giorgia and Stefano.

Unique in the Dolomites, this charming and cosy retreat will transport its guests to a world apart, in harmony with the nature of the mountains and away from the stresses of modern living. Yet San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is just one hour and forty minutes from Innsbruck airport and approximately 15 minutes drive from the stunningly beautiful Dolomiti Superski area of Plan de Corones, or just 3 minutes by helicopter from the lodges’ own helipad.

The moment you step inside, you’ll feel the charm of the vaulted ceiling, the quality of the fabrics, the elegance of the design and the loving attention given to every detail.

But perhaps the highlight of any stay at San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is the genuine passion for hospitality of it’s owners Giorgia and Stefano, and the authentic mountain experiences offered to guests. Go hunting for wild mushrooms and berries with your hosts, see the cows being milked, chop wood the old fashioned way and learn to cook some of Giorgia’s acclaimed recipes.

The natural philosophy continues to the cuisine too. On the breakfast table you will find homemade jam, and the milk, cheese, butter and bacon are all sourced from the Lodge’s neighbouring farms. Giorgia will treat you to expertly cooked local specialities and the well stocked cellar is full of a multitude of excellent wines from the region.

Luxury, however, has certainly not been overlooked. The finest linen sheets, goosedown duvets, cashmere throws and fine furnishings are found throughout and the lodge features a sauna, Turkish bath and fabulous outdoor whirlpool with jaw-dropping panoramic views across the valley. You can even play a full 18 holes of golf in the garden with complimentary access to a course nearby.

San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is so much more than just a ski chalet and offers a truly unique experience in summer and winter.

The dining experience will be one you remember with delicious cheeses, milk and butter produced on the neighbouring farms.

Wine
From the exterior of the lodge, you can access what was formerly a small stable for goats, with the original stone walls and wooden roof. This has been transformed by the Giorgia and Stefano, the owners which is now a delightful wine cellar with an extensive collection of over 1500 wines. Your hosts will guide you through a selection of wines and give you an introduction into the unique aromas and flavours of the region.

Please note that all alcoholic drinks are charged additionally.
Reviews
World Ski Awards Winner 2013 - Italy's Best Ski Chalet.

Conde Nast Traveller:
This family run retreat has a low key brilliance of its own.

Vogue:
Elegant and luxurious without ever feeling pretentious, and set in the rolling hills of the Italian Dolomites, the 16th Century retreat is defined by luxury escapism - home cooked food (with recipes put together by Giorgia), spa pampering, mountain air, fine wine and brilliant ski facilities. You are guaranteed the best sleep you'll remember for some time.
Kids
For children, San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is an adventure they will never forget. Plenty of land to explore, trees to climb, the pool to splash about in and goats to milk.

In summertime, children can learn how to make butter from the milk from the local cows and go hunting for wild berries or mushrooms, under the watchful eye of Giorgia and Stefano. In winter, when not skiing, children can make snowmen and go toboganning on the slopes around the lodge.

Early children’s suppers are available if required and nannies and babysitters can be arranged on request.
