Description
Cleverly conceived and charmingly executed, this luxury villa in Tuscany is a real treat. Villa Oddi is the latest of the old buildings on the exclusive Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco estate to be renovated and the care and thought with which it was done is evident.

In the sophisticated living and dining areas, the vaulted brick ceiling and traditional Tuscan fireplace take centre stage, setting a tone of rustic sophistication for the whole property. A state-of-the-art TV room means you can all gather together for a film night, and gives children a space to escape to while the adults enjoy evening drinks and canapés, perhaps.

Each of the en-suite bedrooms is perfectly designed to ensure maximum relaxation. Some have four-posters, others doors out onto the terrace, but all are decked out in luxury linens, with high ceilings and a cool, airy feel. You’re sure to be asleep the moment your head hits the pillow.

Guests of Villa Oddi are well catered for in the villa’s grounds, with a private tennis court and a simply stunning outdoor heated pool, with views of neighbouring Montalcino. If you fancy a little pampering, the estate’s spa with sauna and steam room are only a stroll away or for a local outing why not arrange a tour and tasting at the estate winery, which is definitely worth a visit.

A woodburning oven and al fresco eating area mean you can enjoy as many meals outdoors as you wish, from delicious Italian cuisine, cooked by the chef using ingredients from the estate’s kitchen garden, to simple but tasty woodfired pizzas. Life here is simple and luxurious in equal measure. Relax and enjoy!

Eating
Food and relaxation are the cornerstones of life at Villa Oddi, so options are flexible to make life as easy for you as possible.

An in-villa chef service can be arranged to give you your own private chef and waiter so you can enjoy fabulous local cooking without leaving your villa. Your chef will be on hand to prepare everything from light lunches to five-course dinners and special occasion cooking. The service is completely flexible.

The estate on which the luxury villa is situated is home to two wonderful eating spots, Ristorante Campo de Drago, which serves traditional Tuscan cuisine alongside the estate’s own wines. The interiors are neutral and contemporary, and if you eat outside on the terrace you’ll enjoy a wonderful view of the hills and woodland below. Then there is the more casual trattoria, Osteria La Canonica, ideal for a light lunch or a pizza in the evening. Both benefit from ingredients picked from the estate’s own kitchen garden and a rustic, local menu.

There is also a delivery service to your villa if you prefer, which includes a kids’ menu.

If you want to take a flavour of your holiday home with you, you can even take part in cookery classes at the estate’s cookery school and learn how to make everything from Tuscan favourites to fresh pasta.
Reviews
"The check-in and concierge staff are courteous and effortlessly bilingual, the spa assistants are friendly and professional, and if you’re here to golf, the resident professionals are at the top of their game." Lee Marshall, The Telegraph.
Kids
Children receive a warm, Italian welcome here and are made to feel right at home. The chef will be happy to prepare special child-friendly meals for you, or you can order from the kids’ in-villa delivery menu.

The villa is blessed with lots of outdoor space for little ones to hare about in, including a private tennis court, and they will love the infinity pool with its own pool house, which houses the sixth bedroom as well as its own en-suite, handy for quick changes if kids are swimming all afternoon. In case of inclement weather, the villa is also kitted out with a PlayStation 4 and Apple TV to keep little ones busy on a wet afternoon.

The estate has a fantastic kids’ club, which can be accessed freely and provides a magical environment for imaginative minds to play and learn, enjoying everything from painting to treasure hunts. There are also structured lessons available in swimming, tennis, cookery, archery and much more besides – the astronomy sessions are a highlight.
