Description

Chalets don’t get much more chocolate-box-charming than this luxury ski chalet in Meribel. Chalet Bambis is a beautiful property perched on the side of the slope with traditional exteriors and an interior that’s as airy and contemporary as it is cosy and colourful.

The chalet’s main attraction is its wonderful location right on the piste. It’s one of Meribel’s only true ski-in/ski-out chalets and there’s nothing like being able to take your boots off the warmers and be the first to make tracks on the new snow each morning. But it’s also within easy distance of the village if you’re simply heading down to people-watch and enjoy coffee. Parents with small children should be aware that guests need to walk across the piste to access the chalet.

Indoors, there are plenty of spaces both to get together with friends as well as relax and find some peace and quiet. Gather round the beautiful stone fireplace in the sitting room with bubbles as your chef prepares your evening meal, or escape to the snug with a good book.

After an energetic day’s skiing, you’ll be glad to escape to the warmth of the Nordic hot tub and sauna to soothe any aches and pains. The terrace has brilliant views of the surrounding countryside and is the best place to watch the fireworks from at new year too!

Location

Chalet Bambis is located right by the Doron piste, giving ski-in/ski-out access. You can walk out of the boot room, put your skis or board on outside then slide down to the Chaudanne to catch the first lifts and to ski straight back to the chalet at the end of the day.

Parents with small children should be aware that guests need to walk across the piste to access the chalet.

The nearest airports are Chambery, 1hr 15mins away by car, Lyon (1hr 55mins) and Grenoble and Geneva are both 2hrs away.

Eating

A highly qualified chef is on hand throughout your stay to ensure you are always well fed and watered at Chalet Bambis.

In the mornings, wake to a table full of cereals, pastries, homemade yoghurt and fruit compote to whet your appetite. A cooked daily special is offered each morning to get you ready for all the action on the slopes.

When you return from your skiing day, an afternoon tea of hot drinks with homemade cakes and biscuits is waiting for you to warm you through from the slopes.

Evenings start with canapés and award-winning fizz, followed by a gourmet three-course meal and cheeseboard, all served with wines matched to the menu. Your private chef will be happy to chat to you prior to your arrival to discuss menus and any dietary requirements. The staff can also help with booking restaurants for the chef’s night off.

Kids

Children will love sharing the two-berth bunk room and two of the other bedrooms can be configured as twins so there’s plenty of flexibility.

The modern, open plan chalet has plenty of space to play and children will also enjoy the large outdoor terrace.

Because the chalet is right on the piste, you can ski right out the door meaning there’s never any stress getting everyone geared up and to the snow. Parents of young children should know that access in and out of the chalet is across the piste.
