Description

Soothe your very soul with a stay in this mountain retreat that’s designed to ensure maximum relaxation. Chalet Eastrock is a luxury ski chalet in Verbier with enough room for everyone to relax in their own space and gather together with good friends and family, too.

From the bottom up, everything has been thought of here, with designer lighting illuminating every corner perfectly, including a woodland lighting theme in the foyer, and an integrated sound system linked through the entire property. Traditional woods and stone are used throughout for a really natural, calm feel, and high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows let the light flood in.

The open-plan living space includes a spacious living area with comfy sofas gathered around the statement fireplace and unbelievable views out across the valley framing Mount Rogneaux. Glass doors slide back to allow access to the wraparound balcony, where you’ll find the hot tub, the perfect spot to relax with a glass of something bubbly after a day out on the snow. Close by is the cosy dining space, which seats 10, and a well-equipped kitchen that also has bar seating so you can sit with a drink and watch your chef at work as he prepares your evening meal.

Each of the en-suite bedrooms is a calm retreat, with the master suite the icing on the cake, including a steam room and a capacious bath with a window next to it looking out at the mountain. Then upstairs, the sweet children’s bedroom includes a lovely reading nook where they can hide away with a book for a quiet hour or two after a busy day at ski school.

But there’s no doubt that it’s that fabulous view that really makes this property. Whether you’re lying back in the bath, out in the hot tub or enjoying drinks by the fire, the mountain is always there, drawing your eye back to the snow from your cosy bolthole.

Location

Chalet Eastrock is approximately a 5 minute drive to the main Medran lift station, whilst Place Centrale is approximately 3 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk away. It is also well positioned just a short walk from the Brunet bus stop and Le Rouge piste.

The nearest airport is Geneva, approximately 2 hours drive away.

Eating

Each morning when you wake, a continental breakfast will be ready and waiting for you downstairs, including a selection of mueslis alongside yoghurts from a local dairy, pastries, fruit platters, smoothies and local charcuterie and cheeses. Your chef will also serve up a hot special each day – anything from smoked salmon and scrambled eggs to pancakes with bacon and syrup.

In the afternoons, when you return from the slopes, afternoon tea will be served with a host there to prepare fresh Kusmi tea, Nespresso coffee and hot chocolate alongside sweet and savoury treats.

There’s just enough time following afternoon tea to slip into something more comfortable before Champagne and canapés are served. Then enjoy a three-course meal accompanied by European wines and a local cheeseboard, followed by digestifs and coffee by the fire.

During your stay, you’ll have one evening to sample the local restaurants of Verbier on staff’s day off and your chalet host will be more than happy to make recommendations and bookings.

Kids

Children are most welcome here and lots of thought has gone into making parents’ lives easier. There’s a lift as well as stairs between each floor of the chalet so families with young children don’t have lots of stairs to negotiate with buggies. Cots and highchairs are available on request, and there’s a large ski room and laundry room to make it easy to deal with all their gear when they get home from ski school.

The dreamy children’s bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite shower all under the eaves, with a sweet reading nook to lose yourself in a book in. Several of the other bedrooms can be arranged as twin rooms so that they can accommodate additional children.

Nannies and babysitters can be booked on request, so the grown-ups can enjoy some time to themselves, too.
