Walk into the light flooded living space at Chalet Refuge V and you’ll be greeted with spectacular views across to the Grande Motte glaciers and the majestic Grand Sassiere above Lac de Chevril. The open plan lounge and dining room has floor to ceiling windows which lead out onto a south facing, wrap-around balcony with lounge chairs and a dining table for sunny, post-slope afternoons. If you’re looking for a stylish base with epic views and plenty of space, this is the place for you.

The tasteful décor throughout the chalet is one of its biggest selling points – with stylish, Scandi inspired furnishings complimenting the exposed wood and snow-capped mountain views. In the main living space, a sleek, black wood burner and low hanging feature lights create a focal point for cosy evening socialising and dining. Meanwhile the kitchen’s checkerboard floor and black cabinets add a fun, New York loft-style feel to the space.

The three main bedrooms and additional bunk room are all calming oasis, perfect for relaxing after a long day of skiing. Expect crisp white bedding and thick cosy throws alongside the chalet’s exposed wood walls, and in the master suite, the mountain views are just as impressive as in the living area.

For the ultimate luxury chalet indulgence, when you get in from the slopes you can ease off your boots in the boot room and head straight to the sauna to unwind and soothe your tired legs.

Location

Chalet Refuge V is set in a sunny spot of Tignes Le Lac. The blue Les Almes piste is just a minute from the chalet, where you can ski down to the Chaudannes or Paquis chair lifts.

When you’re not on the slopes, make a short stroll into resort centre, where you’ll find a selection of restaurants, shops and bars.

Chambery airport is 2 hours away and Geneva approximately 3 hours drive away.

Rooms

Chalet Refuge V sleeps 8 + 2 guests across four bedrooms.

Bedroom 1:
Double/twin bedroom on first floor plus two bunk beds (creating a family room if required) with en-suite bathroom.

Bedroom 2:
Double bedroom on ground floor with shared family bathroom or another shared shower room.

Bedroom 3:
Double bedroom on ground floor with shared family bathroom or another shared shower room.

Bedroom 4:
Bunk room on ground floor with shared family bathroom or another shared shower room.

Eating

Chalet Refuge is usually booked on a catered basis, though can be booked as self-catered if requested. If you opt for a catered stay, expect to be extremely well looked after, with fine dining meals and an open spirits bar.

Each day, your private chef and hosts will serve hearty breakfast and indulgent afternoon tea to keep you fuelled.

On six evenings, pre-dinner canapés are served followed by a full, top restaurant quality dinner with a selection of carefully selected wines. Sit around the large dining table and enjoy the mountain views or star-studded night skies through the floor to ceiling windows, and then retire to the comfy sofas with a post dinner drink to finish the night.

For those travelling with children, the chef will be happy to put together an early evening tea so that parents can enjoy a more relaxed meal later in the evening.

On the staff evening off, there are a huge range of different restaurants and bars to choose from for dinner in Tignes, and your chalet staff will be happy to help book somewhere for you.

Kids

A dedicated kids’ bunk room as well as a further bunk bed in the master suite mean kids are very well catered for here – and what child doesn’t love a bunk bed?!

The spacious living area means there is also plenty of room for families to spread out and have fun, either all together, or in separate areas. After early suppers, kids can curl up on the sofas with some TV and naughty hot chocolates before bed.

Just a minute away from the blue Les Almes piste, the chalet’s location is a big plus for families with little ones. Getting to ski school on time each morning won’t be an issue with an in-resort driver service on hand.

Cots and highchairs can be provided for smaller guests and childcare can be arranged on request.
