Description

While tell-tale oak paneling, heavy beams and chunky stone walls give the game away that this is a classic Alpine property, Chalet Solmai also feels like a stylish English manor-house, littered with antiques and swathed in Persian rugs and tapestries.

Chalet Solmai is located in the heart of Verbier and sleeps up to 24 people. From its south-facing terraces and balconies the mountain views are fabulous – and indoors your eyes are in for a treat, too. The property is full of beautiful art, and with carefully chosen antiques throughout, the place feels loved and homely, rather than purpose-designed for fleeting visitors.

With lots of space and two distinct halves, each with their own living and dining areas, Chalet Solmai is perfect for large families sharing, who want time together but also the option of privacy. The large dining room seats 20 people, and the expansive sun-filled terrace is perfect for pre-dinner drinks. Big squashy leather sofas in the living room are great for post-dinner recovery next to the fire. And then there’s the large DVD library to work through.

Rooms are all uniquely designed and feature hand-made Simon Horne sleigh beds. Baths tend to be gorgeously over-sized. Robes hang on every bedroom door. These details are what add a touch of magic to Chalet Solmai.

Location

Chalet Solmai is located in the heart of Verbier, Switzerland. You can walk into the centre of the village, or enjoy a 2-minute chauffeured drive to the main lift station, restaurants and bars.

Geneva airport is a 2 hour drive away.

Please note whilst there is room for up to 30 people at Chalet Solmai, the maximum number of people for a chalet rental is 24.

Even on a white-out day, children will never get bored in chalet Somai. Endless toys, games and DVDs are provided, as well as sledges, a PlayStation and Wii.

The chalet is spacious and ideal for families, with two dining rooms and living areas. Kids will love the TV room and the chance to dine together in the smaller eating area where, if you like, the chef can serve up a delicious high tea.

Several of the bedrooms are large enough for cots, and bedrooms six and nine offer great space for families with queen-sized beds and a set of twin beds each.

With numerous staff to look after your party, they can arrange anything you like for your children – from tobogganing and ski lessons to horse-drawn sleigh rides.

Babysitters and nannies can be organised, as well as anything else you need.
