Tilhill house is lifted straight from an English fairy-tale. It’s a quintessential Georgian house with 800sqm of space to explore. The newly renovated house is located in the quaint village of Tilford in the heart of the Surrey Hills, sleeping up to 25 guests in total. It’s the perfect location for large groups or families after a traditional English countryside escape.

The property consists of a main house and a private annex, the Coachhouse. The main house has three double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and two large dormitories with ensuite bathrooms that house up to 15 children! Yes, 15 children. The Coachhouse is a separate cosy snug consisting of one double bedroom and a twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and ensuite shower room and a fully integrated kitchen – the perfect space for a family needing a little more privacy.

To compliment the beauty and simplicity of the exterior, the interior has been designed professionally in a Modern European style. Each detail has been meticulously thought through and the entire house is out of a picture book. It feels warm, inviting but also designed with delicate touches and quality furnishings. The property is tastefully decorated with delicate English farmyard touches and beautiful wooden details throughout each room. The hero of the living space has to be the gorgeous rustic table with enough space to comfortably seat 16 – an idyllic breakfast spot. For the worker bees in the group, the main house even has a separate office too for some quiet space if needed.

Tilhill House is built for fun, with a games room with a number of exciting – and competitive – games to sink your teeth into. From a football table to classic board games and a games console there’s something for all ages in this epic space.

Transport yourself to a cool summer night where you’re watching the sun dip below the horizon as the smells wafting from the outdoor pizza oven fill the air. The flames from the firepit are just getting going and the laughter and smiles of your group fill the space with warmth. With outdoor seating for 12 diners, a gas BBQ and professional outdoor kitchen, Tilhill House is a dream for entertaining and dining outside.

Tilhill house has a resident couple living on the premises who are there to look after the grounds and the cheeky chickens, goats and horses that live there. They’ll welcome you with friendly smiles and be a point of call for any issues during your stay. For lazy evenings in, why don’t you nestle in front of the fire with the whole clan and choose a Netflix movie – or two. Keep the fire going all night long – all the logs are included in your stay and there’s nothing like the crackle and warmth from the fire to feel truly relaxed on holiday.

Location

To get to Tilhill House from Tilford Village Green just cross the bridge heading west, then go north onto Tilford Street. You’ll see Squires Hill Lane on the left after the garden nursery and before Waverley Abbey Junior School. The parking at the property can fit up to 10 cars and if you’re arriving by train, the nearest local train station is Farnham.

Guildford is just 20 minutes’ drive away; central London is just 1 hour 15 minutes by car and Southampton on the south coast is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes away. The closest airport is Heathrow International Airport around 45 minutes’ drive away.

Despite its secluded nature, a wealth of restaurants, takeaways and food shops are all within 30-minutes’ drive from the property. Before you arrive, you can stock up on fresh ingredients for the pizza oven and make use of the professional grade outdoor kitchen to make the most of those delicious summer evenings.

To visit Tilhill house is to go on a special retreat, centred around fun, games, eating and family times. With the gas BBQ, 12-seater outdoor table and chairs and pizza oven you’ve got dining options in abundance. With this being said, you are absolutely welcome to bring in external caterers to host your stay or deliver a dining experience for your group.

Kids

Children are sure to fall in love with Tilhill house. With an abundance of nooks and crannies, your kids will be entertained for hours playing hide and seek in one of the many rooms. Watch their faces bursting with excitement as you introduce them to their shared room in the dormitories. In the main house there’s a playroom dedicated to fun and games galore with a huge TV for some downtime – likely needed after the day’s excitement.

Kids can spend their days getting competitive on the private tennis courts, shooting some hoops or jumping around doing tricks on the trampoline. They’ll be occupied for hours playing killer on the basketball courts until their little noses prick up at dinner time as they sniff the fresh pizza’s being prepared in the outdoor oven. On a crisp morning, head out to feed the resident horses some carrots with your little ones before having a play on the outdoor swing.

With over 20 acres of land to explore, family walks across the 20-acres of land are a must – or if you’re more a fan of travelling on two wheels, why don’t you make use of the bikes at the residence? For those families who love a bit of healthy competition, give the boules and badminton set a go.
