We do love a villa that absolutely lives up to its name. Perched high above the beautiful bay of St Jean, Villa Bellavista offers some of the dreamiest views we’ve seen. Blending into its hilltop location, its design is so seamless you could be led to believe it has always been there since day dot.

Views of the bay beyond can be soaked up in style lounging on the outdoor arced sofa around the fire pit, drinks in hand, looking out over pretty rooftops and lush greenery to the sea beyond, dotted with little sailing boats. Although these are our favourite seats in the house, the same panoramic picture can be savoured from the plush outdoor living room or from the edge of the villa’s heated infinity pool.

With its French influence, food is always a highlight in St Barths, and Villa Bellavista is no exception. Feel the heat as your private chef flambés your favourite dishes in the professional kitchen, or take a front row seat on the outdoor bar stools as the BBQ sizzles with fresh seafood. For an after dinner treat, pick out a vintage varietal from the eye-catching wine cellar, where the bounty of bottles are illuminated in blue against a stone backdrop, which can be appreciated from the open plan living-dining room.

Dreaming of waking up to views of the waves? No problem. All five of the bedrooms at Villa Bellavista boast sea views, and with floor to ceiling windows, (some of which retract fully into the walls), you can truly embrace island life. Our favourite room comes complete with safari-style awning shading the rattan day bed, which you’ll be hard pushed to drag yourself away from. With neutral tones infused with blue hues, the interiors of all the bedrooms pay homage to its island location.

Why not put the vast sea view terraces to use? Ask your concierge to arrange a private yoga lesson or arrange a tranquil massage to the sound of the sea.

And as an added bonus, guests of the villa benefit from access to the exclusive Eden Rock Hotel, with its fitness suite, wonderful restaurants and private sandy beach.

Location

This luxury villa in St Barths is close to St Jean Bay and the Eden Rock Hotel.

Several major airlines have regular international flights to the neighbouring island of St Martin and local companies have connecting flights to St Barth’s Gustave III Airport, which is just a short drive from the villa. There are also charter speedboats and daily ferries from St Martin to St Barth’s.

All bedrooms have air conditioning, fans, safe and TVs.

Eating

Continental breakfast is served each morning. The villa also has a wonderful outdoor eating space, complete with BBQ and a garden wired for sound so you can eat al fresco accompanied by music. With a private chef included, you need not lift a finger during your stay.

Guests of Villa Bellavista are welcome to dine at Eden Rock Hotel, which includes the Sand Bar, a relaxed but cosmopolitan eatery where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner right on the beach with a panoramic ocean view and your feet in the sand. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a more fine-dining experience, you may prefer to visit On The Rocks, which specialises in seafood with a tropical twist and stunning views out over St Jean Bay. Both are presided over by the renowned master chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and will be a treat for any gourmand.
