Built over the ruins of a Roman palace dating back to  the 18th century, this luxury villa has hosted many famous names. Whilst staying here during the 19th century, world-famous composer Bizet was so inspired by the sounds of the sea that he wrote his renowned opera, Carmen.

Villa Camille passed to Countess Mona Strader Bismarck in the 20th century. A leading light in fashionable society, she was also a keen gardener and created the lush terraces, English-style gardens and rose covered pergolas.

The complex consists of two connecting buildings over two levels. Marble floors, vaulted ceilings and modern pieces of sculpture juxtaposed with crystal lamps, antique furniture and historic paintings lend this luxury villa a sense of splendour.

Relax with an aperitif on the living room’s comfy sofas, tinkle on the ivories of the villa’s grand piano, or drift onto the terrace for stunning vistas of this famous island.

Location

This luxury villa is situated on the waterfront of world-famous Capri and even has its own boat dock.

Capodichino in Naples is the nearest airport to the island. From Naples, you can reach Capri in 45 minutes by hydrofoil, or by helicopter.

Double bedroom on the ground floor; en-suite shower room and a writing desk.

Bedroom two – Flora
Double bedroom on the ground floor; en-suite with bathtub and a built-in wardrobe.

Bedrooms three and four – Bianca and Alexandre
Double bedrooms on the ground floor; en-suite shower rooms. These rooms have access to a small courtyard via a set of French doors.

Bedroom five – Marie
Double room on the ground floor; small en-suite shower room. This room has access to a small courtyard via a set of French doors.

Bedroom six – Violetta
Suite on the first floor with a double bed; en-suite bathroom with bathtub, sea views, chaise, table, writing desk and a fireplace.

Bedroom seven – Alfredo
Suite on the first floor with a double bed; external shower accessed via the wardrobe area of the suite, sea views and a writing desk.

Bedroom eight – Margherita
Suite on the first floor with a double bed; en-suite shower room, and small living area.

Eating

A host of culinary delights await you on Capri and your chef at this luxury villa will ensure that your party’s tastes are catered for. During your meals, which can be served in the villa’s grand dining area or alfresco on the sun deck, you’ll sample home grown ingredients, picked from this luxury villa’s well-stocked garden, offering guests the best of the season’s fresh vegetables, tomatoes, eggplants, courgettes, fresh herbs, basil, and peppers – all matured naturally in the Mediterranean sun.

Pick from pasta dishes, creamy risottos and homemade desserts, all washed down with glasses of zesty Capri Rosso, Capri Bianco and ice-cold Limoncello.

Continental breakfast will be served daily during your stay at this luxury villa and your chef will then prepare either lunch or dinner – the choice is yours. This leaves you to sample the local restaurants in of Capri for one meal per day, though if you prefer not to leave your spot in the sunshine at your luxury villa, additional meals can be arranged on request.

Children will find much to amuse them at this luxury villa. The extensive grounds will provide ample space for them to run around and they are sure to be delighted by staying so close to the sea.

Splashing in the outdoor Jacuzzi will provide hours of fun for the kids. Miniature history buffs will delight in spotting relics from the Roman palace which once stood on this spot – incredibly, traces of its remains can be seen dotted around the property.

If you prefer your little ones to eat a child-friendly meal before the grown-ups sit for dinner, your personal chef can certainly arrange this.
