Life at Villa Dimora dei Simplici is whatever you want it to be. Nestled in Puglia’s countryside, it offers a sense of real privacy, but is still within easy access of historic towns and charming villages. There are even complimentary bicycles at the villa, so you can go off exploring the countryside whenever you wish.

The villa’s ‘trulli’ roofs give the property a charming, traditional style, which is continued indoors with arched brickwork and flagstone floors. The interiors are decorated in a neutral palette of muted shades that create a modern-rustic look and a beautiful backdrop for the characteristic and antique items of furniture dotted around the property.

At the heart of the villa is the living space with capacious sofas to lounge on with friends. On hot days, it provides somewhere cool and shady to relax, and on chilly nights, you can light the huge fireplace and watch the flames dance over a glass of wine. There are also plenty more spaces for everyone to find a bolthole of their own. As well as the refectory style dining area, and the six bedrooms, all ensuite, there’s a games room complete with table tennis and table football. Additionally, hidden all over the property are cosy seats in alcoves, just inviting you to hide away with a book for an hour or two.

The main kitchen (there is a second smaller kitchen, too) is a sociable and laid-back open-plan space with a television and stools at a breakfast bar. The kitchen opens out onto an outside dining space, covered by a leafy pergola to add a bit of shade. It’s a wonderful spot for a tasty lunch or a long, leisurely dinner as the sun sets.

Of course, it’s these outdoor spaces that really make this Puglian villa. Among the beautifully manicured gardens, two swimming pools on either side of the building mean you can have a relaxing float, while someone else is doing a few lengths. Both are surrounded by comfortable loungers, so you can easily spend the whole afternoon out here, alternating a dip in the water with a nap in the sunshine. A private vegetable garden as well as an outdoor kitchen with its own pizza oven and barbecue, mean this is a property where you can truly live an outdoor lifestyle, in total luxury.

Location

This luxury villa in Puglia is just 25 minutes drive to the beach, nestled between the historic city of Ostuni and the beautiful town of Martina Franca. There is a shop nearby but Ostuni is only 25 minutes by car, with all its amenities. Locorotondo and Alberobello are both close by for days out.

The nearest airport is Brindisi, 50 minutes’ drive away. Bari Airport is an hour and a half by car.

Villa Dimora dei Simplici has its own vegetable garden you’re welcome to use for creating zero miles dinners, and plenty of space for you to spend time cooking up a storm. As well as the well-equipped and sociable open-plan kitchen with its outside dining area under the leafy pergola, there’s also an outdoor kitchen with its own barbecue and pizza oven close by.
