Sensory overload is the only way to describe entering through the gates of Villa Aurora and into the lush paradise of its gardens. Just feast your eyes on the inviting swimming pool with its grotto fountains, shielded by pomegranate and palm trees. And all this is before you’ve even crossed the threshold. Inside, like a character in a Henry James novel, you find yourself drifting through sun-filled rooms, artfully decorated, with the discrete Villa Aurora in attendance.

Each of the seven large and luxurious suites is individually styled. Boiserie wall panels? A Venetian bookcase? Villa Aurora is owned by a renowned art and antiques dealer and is a treasure trove of paintings, sculptures and furniture. Behind the scenes, however, it is fully up to date, with high speed wireless internet, flat screen TVs and DVD players in every room.

No wonder Capri is a favourite retreat of Italy’s rich and famous when such secluded, sun-drenched sanctuaries like this can be found. Sipping your morning coffee and delicious breakfast at a little table in the garden, looking out over the Bay of Naples, is a highlight of the day. With majestic Monte Solaro in the background and the little town of Anacapri a short walk away, the location is ideal for a special event, or a relaxing retreat.

Location

Villa Aurora is in the small town of Anacapri, on the island of Capri. From Naples, there is a 45 minute hydrofoil trip to the island.

This luxury villa is just a 5 minute walk from the main square in Anacapri, via a beautiful old footpath through near the center of town. In Anacapri you will find the chair lift that ascends Mt Solaro, which offers the highest and most panoramic viewing point on the island.

Please note the the villa is accessible only by foot.

This luxury villa sleeps 14 people in 7 bedrooms across the main house and a garden annexe which is adjacent to the pool area.

Eating

You’ll awake to a daily complimentary breakfast at this luxury villa and for lunch and dinner your private cook is available throughout your stay to rustle up delicious meals for your party, featuring local Amalfi specialities. Ingredients are fresh and locally sourced – perfect for enjoying alfresco in the villas wonderful gardens.

If you prefer to dine out, Capri’s wonderful restaurants are just a short walk away.

Kids

Although Villa Aurora is a haven of peace and tranquillity, there is plenty of room for families with children to feel at home.

Whilst the swimming pool is always a popular with children, due to the open-access to it, younger children may need to be supervised.

The staff at Villa Aurora can make sure the children are well looked after, providing tasty snacks and refreshing drinks on request. They can also suggest interesting and fun things for kids to do in Capri such as taking the chairlift up to Monte Solaro. The island also has several little beach clubs and grottos to explore.
