It would be a big mistake to dismiss the Greek island of Corfu in your search for Mediterranean bliss. The truth is that most of this sun-baked, idyllic island remains utterly unspoilt and tranquil, despite the march of tourism. Outside the busy resorts, large swathes of Corfu are a hidden paradise of rocky coves, ancient olive groves and sweeping views out to sea.
The second largest of the Greek Islands, Corfu has more than 200km of coastline and a mountainous interior, carpeted with olive trees and dotted with quaint, sleepy villages and is home to some truly stunning luxury villas.

If you are wondering where to stay on the island of Corfu, here are some of our favourite areas:
Some of the most lavish villas in the Greek Islands can be found around the charming village of Agios Stefanos on the North East coast of Corfu.
With a golden sand beach stretching 2km, Agios Stefanos makes the perfect vantage point to admire some of the most beautiful sunsets in Corfu.
It is well known that the greek island of Corfu offers idilic walks along the coastlines and through the fisherman villages, with olive trees, stunning landscape and ancient little churches dotted around. Agios Stefanos doesn’t break this trend and has all of the above in abundance, so make sure to pack some water, suncream and some snacks to go for a stroll around the area.
Kassiopi is a delightfully charming fisherman village on the North East coast of Corfu. There are a few beaches dotted around, and plenty of amazing restaurants to try the local catch of the day, all with stunning views over the harbour and across the sea.
We would recommend walking to the harbour and hiring a boat for the day. Take the boat around the coastline and have lunch at a taverna enclosed by olive trees. You may recall ‘The Durrells’, a family in the 1930s who lived in Corfu for 4 years in a beautiful house nearby to Kassiopi. There was a television show later created, and now you can take your boat round to Kalami Bay and see the house they lived in!
If you’re the type of holiday-goer who enjoys exploring the rich history of your destination, going to see Corfu Town is an absolute must, even just for a day.
There are ancient churches, fortresses and museums. The old and new fortresses are well worth the short inclines, and there are an array of restaurants and bars on the shorefront for you to cool down in afterwards!
Throughout the stunning winding lanes of the town itself, the shoppers amongst us have endless options for those holiday gifts you’re expected to bring back!
