Moskito Island is an exclusive estate comprising three villas, luxury entertainment and living spaces, created by Sir Richard Branson as a family getaway in the style of his famous Necker Island. When the Bransons aren’t in residence on this Caribbean island, it’s available for hire, so others can enjoy a really welcoming family home with all the luxuries and high standards of service you would find in a world-class hotel.

The three luxury villas, two with discrete guest houses, are each individually decorated in a coastal New England style, with dark woods and white soft furnishings standing out crisply against the backdrop of the azure sea. The Caribbean is ever-present here. The luxury villas have been designed to maximise the views with huge windows and doors that open right back and bring the sea right to you. Each has its own swimming pool and spacious, cool living areas where everything has been carefully considered for your ultimate comfort and relaxation – from sound systems to luxury furnishings, pool bars to temperature controlled wine fridges. And if there’s anything they’ve not thought of you only have to ask. Dedicated staff are always on hand to help with whatever you need.

On the eastern side of the island is the shared recreation area where you can take part in a wide range of activities at the tennis pavilion, watersports centre, infinity pool with bar and the Beach House with bar, as well as several lounge areas. There are also three dining pavilions where you will gather together for wonderful alfresco meals created by your talented chef – one is on the beachfront, another near the salt pond and a third on the waterfront, so there’s always a new view to admire over your meal on this luxury Caribbean island. Don’t forget to pop back to the hot tub at the swimming pool with your after-dinner drinks – it’s best enjoyed by starlight!

While there are a whole range of activities and adventures to take part in on your luxury villa holiday, from snorkelling to sailing, kayaking to kite-surfing, or hiking across the 125 acres of paradise…pampering and relaxation are also taken very seriously here. Location

Moskito Island is a collection of luxury villas in the British Virgin Islands that form an exclusive estate.

The private island has a helipad that can be used during daylight hours. The nearest international airport is Tortola on Beef Island, which can be reached via several Caribbean routes, the most popular being Antigua (1 hour 20 minutes transfer) and San Juan (35 minutes). By private launch, Moskito Island is 30 minutes from Beef Island and 10 minutes from Virgin Gorda.

Should you wish to arrive in style by private jet on your luxury villa holiday, the nearest landing ports are at Beef Island or St. Thomas. It is then just a quick transfer to Moskito Island via helicopter.

Rooms

This exclusive estate in the British Virgin Islands is made up of a collection of three luxury villas and guest houses sleeping up to 22 adults and two children in the ‘nursery’ at Beach Villa. All three luxury villas have private infinity pools.

Headland House
This luxury villa is perched on the northeast tip of Moskito Island. Three bedrooms sit on the ground floor, and there is a ‘great room’ upstairs which features a corner bar, dining for up to 40 people, games area and fully equipped kitchen. All areas of Headland House are accessible by elevator.

Master suite
King-size bed, sliding folding doors that give a 180° view of the sea, sundeck, infinity pool access, walk-in wardrobes and en-suite bathroom.

Two further bedrooms with sea views and en-suite bathrooms.

Beach Villa
In an enviable sheltered position just above sandy beach, Beach Villa has four bedrooms that are elevated and set back from the water. They are connected by a raised wooden walkway, which also gives access to Mangrove Villa. This luxury villa features a spacious lounge area, mini-bar, and fully equipped kitchen. It is possible to enjoy lunch or dinner in your luxury villa either at the dining table which seats eight or al fresco on the outdoor deck by the pool. Beach Villa also has its own private access to the beach where there is a foosball table and table tennis.

Flamingo Nest Master suite
King-size bed, sun deck at the front with eating area and day bed overlooking the pool, dual vanity area, large bathtub and ‘hidden’ TV in the trunk at the foot of the bed and en-suite bathroom. There is also a nursery off this room which sleeps two children.

Three additional guest houses, Turtle, Gecko and Palm, are situated on either side of Beach Villa. Each house sleeps two people and has its own bathroom as well as balcony with sea views. Some have outdoor showers, too. Beneath Gecko there are beach toys, watersports equipment, fusball and ping pong tables. Turtle and Gecko can both be configured as twin rooms if you wish.

Mangrove Villa

Mangrove Villa is comprised of a main house and three additional guest houses either side. The rooms in this luxury villa feature rich wood interiors and Balinese style objects. On the ground floor of the main villa there is a large lounge, fully equipped kitchen, two breakfast bars, dining table and outdoor deck.

Treetops Master suite
King-sized bed, panoramic views of the sea and Necker Island, sundeck with double swing bed, ‘hidden’ TV in the trunk at its foot, freestanding bath tub, dual vanity area and en-suite bathroom. This room also has a nursery, making it ideal for young families.

Three additional guest houses, Lakeside, Sunrise and Sea Breeze, are situated on either side of Mangrove Villa. Each house sleeps two people and has its own bathroom as well as balcony with sea views. Some have outdoor showers, too. Lakeside and Sunrise can both be configured as twin rooms if you wish.

Eating

The options for dining on this luxury Caribbean island are endless but you can be sure that every meal will be a treat. Choose to leave the menus up to your talented chef, or just let them know what you’d like to eat and menus can be tailored to your every whim.

Whether you want formal fine dining or relaxed barbecues, would like to eat poolside, indoors or on the beach under the stars, it’s all up to you. The Beach House dining room and kitchen also has its own outdoor dining area to seat 26 and features an outdoor grill and pizza oven. In addition there are three unique dining pavilions on the island, each with a different view and theme.

If there are children in your party, the chef will be pleased to cater for them separately, ensuring everyone is happy and well fed.

Staff

The exclusive estate comes with a full team of staff to take care of everything from catering, housekeeping and laundry to help with water sports, excursions and other activities.

Kids

Children are most welcome on Moskito Island and will be enchanted by the whole concept of this private island in the BVIs.

Older ones will enjoy being able to take part in the raft of water sports on offer on this luxury Caribbean island, from kayaking to kite-surfing and much more. Back on dry land, the staff can arrange lots of sports to keep them busy, including mountain biking and tennis. Younger visitors will love getting involved in ‘beach Olympics’ and treasure hunts.

Some of the master suites in the luxury villas have nurseries incorporated into them, making them ideal for parents of infants. And mums and dads to kids of all ages will enjoy the deep relaxation that comes with life on a private island. Staff will be always on hand to look after families and ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible on your luxury villa holiday, whether that be organising activities to keep kids busy or arranging babysitters to enable the adults to enjoy an evening meal together.
