In keeping with the sense of privacy, this luxury villa in Corsica is made up of three separate dwellings. A traditional stone bergerie (‘sheepfold’) is the most spacious of the trio, with two rustic-luxe bedrooms, a modern bathroom, bright living area and contemporary kitchen/diner. A hundred metres closer to the coast, two cosy cabin bedrooms perched on huge rocks each have a modern open bathroom and share a hot tub on the decked terrace for warm bubbly soaks in the sunshine.

Yet it’s only a 10-minute drive from the centre of Bonifacio where you’ll find historical sightseeing, bars and restaurants both in the charming old town and down on the waterfront at the lively marina.

Transfers from Figari Sud Corse airport take approximately 15 minutes.

A delicious breakfast will be delivered to you each day from the Version Maquis Citadelle Hotel. Unpack the goodies on the dining terrace in front of the infinity-edge swimming pool and start the day with breakfast in the sunshine.

While you could cook up leisurely al fresco lunches and locally inspired dinners in the bergerie’s modern kitchen, you’re likely to make the most of the impressive outdoor stone-walled kitchen, with wood barbecue or where you can try your hand at baking fresh bread and delicious pizzas in the bread oven (use subject to conditions). You’re also spoiled for choice with the Teppanyaki grill down by the al fresco dining area alongside the swimming pool.

Domaine de la Trinité guests also have access to the Version Maquis Citadelle Hotel’s restaurant, a short drive away.

If you can manage to drag yourself away from this one-off villa, you’ll find a range of Mediterranean bars and restaurants down in Bonifacio’s lively marina or old town, just a 10-minute drive away.
