Set right in the heart of Salema, with all its shops, restaurants and cafes, everything is on your doorstep, and you are also just steps from the sands of Salema Beach. Residence Sol e Mar is a pretty, white-washed building, bursting with coastal charm that blends right into its environment. Inside, the property is decorated in white and blue coastal colours, reflecting the shades of sea and sand outside and making the most of its fabulous sea views from every window.

A fully equipped kitchen and dining area to seat six allow you to cater for yourselves easily, and a welcome hamper is waiting for you on arrival to get you off to a good start. There’s also an alfresco dining area on the roof terrace, shaded by parasols, with a barbecue nearby. It’s a wonderful spot to linger over good food and wine, all with a view of the sea.

Back indoors, there’s a comfy living room with sofas and a flatscreen TV, where you can cosy up with a film in the event of a rainy evening.

Each of the air-conditioned bedrooms is essentially a suite of its own, with small living area and en-suite shower, making this the perfect property for two couples or a family with teens, where everyone likes a bit of their own space.

Location

This luxury villa in the Algarve is located in the middle of the town of Salema, close to all the shops, bars and restaurants and right on the beach.

The villa is only 2.5km from the Santo Antonio golf and tennis club, where there is also a spa, should you wish to enjoy a little pampering as part of your holiday.

Further afield it is just 20km to Lagos and Faro is just over 100km away.

Eating

Residence Sol e Mar is a luxury self-catered villa in the Algarve where you’ll be able to make the most of the location and facilities to enjoy the best of the local food scene.

On arrival, you’ll find a welcome hamper of local goodies waiting, including all the essentials, such as red and white wine, beers, soft drinks, mineral water, tea and coffee, sugar, seasonal fruit and olive oil. The hamper is enough to keep you going until you manage to get to the shops to try some of the local delicacies.

In the meantime, you’re right in the heart of Salema here, so you’re perfectly placed to try all the best restaurants and cafes. We particularly love Agua Na Boca, often considered to be one of the best restaurants in the whole of the Algarve. Em Lume Brando is also well worth a visit for its delicious new taster menu.

Kids

Small guests are very welcome at Sol e Mar, making it a great base for a family of four, with two kids sharing.

Children of all ages will be enormously impressed by the proximity of the villa to the beach; it’s literally steps away. The only problem will be convincing them to have breakfast before they disappear down onto the sand. And they’ll also enjoy the terrace, where they can read or game in the shade, when they need to rest and refuel.
