Full of sunshine and Puglian charm, Villa Jehudiel is a characterful holiday home where you’ll find quiet and fun in equal measure.

Compact and perfectly planned, Villa Jehudiel sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is the sister property to The Trulli, nearby. Both villas can be taken together to accommodate up to 12, or Villa Jehudiel can be taken alone as a private country bolthole for two couples or a family of four.

Hidden away among olive groves and fig, almond and pomegranate trees, with the sound of cicadas singing in the background, all life’s stresses just float away here. The traditional building includes exposed stone vaults, curved ceilings and typically Puglian whitewashed walls that all hark back to another time. But the property is kitted out with plenty of mod cons, from satellite TV to Wifi and top-of-the-range kitchen equipment, and the entire property has air-conditioning to keep you comfortable even on the hottest of days.

The cool and airy living space has comfy seating and is open plan to a kitchen and dining area, making it a very sociable space. The two light, bright bedrooms are each decked out with white cotton bed linens and each has its own en-suite shower room and outside relaxation spaces with a hammock and sofa.

The outdoor spaces are equally thoughtfully designed to allow you to live an entirely outdoor life on sunny days. At the front of the property is a veranda with a table and chairs where you can enjoy al fresco meals. The swimming pool area has an outdoor lounge with a sofa, huge floor cushions and tables, and nearby a marble bar with dishwasher, ice-maker and fridge for fixing poolside cocktails. This area must be the icing on Villa Jehudiel’s cake though – a cascading swimming pool (which can be heated at an extra cost) with hydromassage facility, as well as shower and plenty of bathrobes and towels to hand. The paved area around the swimming pool is enclosed, but with ‘windows’ in the walls so you can enjoy the view of the gardens as you swim. Then as the sun dips down, sit back and relax as the automatic outdoor lighting begins to glow, setting the perfect mood under the canopy of stars.
