At the heart of this property is an internal ‘courtyard’ with the large heated pool, lit with LED lights to give it a welcoming glow. Surrounded by cloisters and beds on which to lounge post swim, it has the look of a luxury Moroccan hammam. There are dining spaces, seating areas and large beds all at the pool’s edge, but under cover so you can sit in the shade and still enjoy the feeling of being outdoors. Up above is a maze of terraces, where you can walk and enjoy the wonderful views of the Bay of Saint Tropez.

Indoors there are also plenty of spaces in which to gather with friends and relax alone. The villa’s staff are always on hand to top up drinks, arrange activities – anything from wine-tastings to wellbeing treatments – and ensure you never need to lift a finger while you’re here. And the little details are looked after here, too, from fresh flowers to luxury bath products to fully stocked snacks and drinks fridges. Everything is taken care of for you.

Seven beautiful air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms give everyone a cool, calm bolthole to escape to and there’s a further bedroom in a separate apartment with its own kitchenette, which can accommodate another two guests or may be a useful room for a nanny.

Eating

Good food and fine wines are a cornerstone of life at Villa Philomène. This luxury villa has a private Michelin-trained chef on hand six days out of seven and fully stocked drinks and snacks fridges to keep you going between times.

Each morning a cooked and continental breakfast is offered and then lunches are served outdoors to allow you to make the most of the magnificent alfresco dining spaces.

In the evenings, you can enjoy drinks and canapés poolside or looking out over the sea while your chef prepares a four-course gourmet meal, rounded off with award-winning local wines and cheeses.

Your chef will be pleased to prepare an earlier children’s tea with foods that appeal to younger palates, and at a more child-friendly time so the grown-ups can relax a bit post-bedtime.

On your chef’s night off, head to Port de Saint Tropez to take your pick of the raft of fabulous eateries. Your concierge will be pleased to make recommendations and bookings for you at the best tables in town.
