Several of the bedrooms look out to sea, too – there’s surely no finer sight to wake to each morning. As well as the beach that has direct access from the property, there are also some of the Atlantic’s best stretches of sand within a five-minute drive away. There’s plenty to keep outdoorsy types amused, with lots of water sports available. The villa even has a body board, paddle boards, inflatable kayak and bikes for you to use.

This is a house where you can really enjoy an outdoor lifestyle – terraces on two levels, perfectly manicured gardens, and a fabulous barbecue area where you can take your meals al fresco before watching the sun go down over the ocean.

Inside, relaxed beach-house chic meets stylish mid-century-modern design. Touches of Scandi style suit the spacious and light-filled living room, where there is plenty of room for lounging as the cool breeze comes in off the sea on hot summer days. During the winter months, this space is cosy and warm, with a wood fire to gather round with friends.

The beautifully designed bedrooms are all unique in their own way, with bold wallpapers and quirky design ideas that add character to each space, and with the sea right on your doorstep the sound of the waves gently lapping the shore, permeates all the bedrooms, lulling you to sleep.

Location

Lodge Canon has a beachfront location in the lovely village of Canon on the Cap-Ferret peninsula in Bordeaux. It’s a 5 minute drive to some of the Atlantic’s best beaches and a stone’s throw from Canon’s shops.

Bordeaux Merignac airport is 1 hour away by car.

The property has a lovely barbecue area as well as a professional kitchen so if you wish to make the most of the fabulous local food markets and cook for yourselves, you’ll enjoy doing so very much.

Le Canon is surrounded by restaurants and shops, so there are plenty of eating spots to choose from. The oysters here are not to be missed! Chez Boulan in Cap-Ferret is particularly good for oysters, while nearby Chez Hortense is said to serve the best moules frites in the whole of France.

Kids

Children will adore the fabulous location of this house. Stand close by to hold them back long enough to change into swimming trunks when you open the door and they realise they can run all the way to the sea in seconds! There’s also a large landscaped garden, giving them plenty of space to run round and burn off any excess energy.

There are two three-berth dormitories in the property, making it ideal for several families with children to share. Each dorm has its own en-suite and plenty of space for playing, enjoying midnight feasts and storing treasures found on the beach.

With barbecue area and the beach so close, kids can enjoy a true outdoor living experience here. We guarantee they will sleep well on the way home!
