Throw open the French windows and step out on to the veranda to feel the invigorating, salty sea breeze on your skin. Then discover the wonderful garden and the eco swimming pool, filtered by plants and rocks. Across the gardens and through the ancient pine trees is a pretty stone wall separating your private oasis from the sandy beach and lapping waves. Villa La Tosca is a place to re-connect with nature and feel at one with the world.

The house has been renovated to provide 21st century comforts such as wifi and satellite TV, whilst neutral tones enhance the elegance of original features such as marble fireplaces. Sophisticated splashes of colour and quirky modern furniture give it a designer feel, without detracting from its character. The living and dining rooms can be combined to create one large living space, and the old snooker room has been reinvented as a private cinema with 55 inch screen and video system, which can also be used as a seminar room. Villa La Tosca also has a well-equipped office on the first floor.

Within the idyllic grounds are a trampoline and table tennis table as well as table football and volleyball. In the evenings, just relax by the fire in the cosy library where you can sip a vintage Bordeaux from the villa’s wine cellar. Location

Villa La Tosca is located on the seafront, on the Bay of Arcachon near Bordeaux.

The nearest airport is Bordeaux which is approximately 40 minutes drive away.

This luxury villa can sleep up to 16 guests in 8 bedrooms.

All bedrooms have TVs, air-conditioning, hairdryers and safes as well as a complimentary fruit basket.

Bedroom one – L’eau Vive
Double bedroom with king-sized bed on the first floor, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and Jacuzzi bathtub, fireplace, private terrace with sea views and direct access to loggia.

Bedroom two – La Vue
Double bedroom with king-sized bed on the second and third floor; en-suite bathroom with bathtub and walk-in shower.

Bedroom three – La Veranda
Double bedroom on the ground floor (can be converted into twin beds); en-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower, French windows opening onto loggia. This room is well suited to guests who require wheelchair access.

Bedroom four – Le Bassin
Double bedroom with king-sized beds on the first floor (can be converted into twin beds); en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, direct access to the loggia, fireplace.

Bedroom five – La Foret

Eating

Warm summer evenings are perfect for dining out on the verandah of Villa La Tosca, surrounded by nature and serenaded by the sound of the sea. Alternatively, you can admire the views from indoors, at the beautiful dining table. Guests are welcomed with a complimentary drink and a daily French breakfast is included along with all soft drinks. All other food and drink is an additional cost.

The villa’s beautiful kitchen is modern and well equipped, but if you prefer someone else to do all the cooking, a private chef can be arranged. With highly qualified and experienced staff running the kitchen, all you have to do is relax and let your taste buds be pampered on a daily basis. Regional specialities, fresh fish and world-famous local wines will appear at your table, providing unforgettable highlights of your stay.

Depending on the season, many of your fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables will come straight to the kitchen from your own garden. The taste of home-grown, freshly-picked food is unbeatable. And of course, this corner of the South West of France is famous for its oysters, foie gras and caviar.

Kids

All the fun of a traditional beach holiday, without the overcrowding. Villa La Tosca is just a few steps from the sea (accessed through a gate in the stone wall), and very handy for a whole range of fun activities. Why not take the kids for a day of sand yachting, fishing or horse riding on the beach? Several tranquil lakes provide an alternative to the Atlantic coast on windy days, so there is plenty of choice.

This is a wonderful place for good old fashioned outdoor fun, such as climbing the huge natural sand dunes, messing about with boats and kayaks, and hiring bicycles. But even back home at the villa there is plenty to do. With a table tennis table and trampoline in the secluded garden, plus the natural swimming pool, your children will be utterly exhausted every night.
