From this lavish home-from-home’s sun-baked stone terraces and inviting infinity-edge swimming pool you can see all the way over the glittering Ionian Sea to the lush mountains of Albania.

Old House’s exterior brims with charm. Clad in local stone, it has been designed to blend harmoniously with its surroundings, and secret doorway arches draped in foliage, shuttered windows and decorative, candle-lit fireplace add a romantic edge. Inside, a sophisticated French country house décor gives an intimate and soothing feel; it’s all pastel tones, whimsical drapes, vaulted ceilings and full-height windows. The kitchen/diner/lounge area is compact but super light and airy, and the outside terrace is exceptionally generous for a three-bedroom luxury villa in Corfu.

This is a place that makes it easy to live life in the slow lane. Relax beside the swimming pool (which also comes with a Jacuzzi section), tuck into leisurely al fresco lunches washed down with a glass or two of something chilled or find your favourite outdoor seating nook.

Alternatively, Corfu has plenty to offer if you want to get out and explore, too.

A separate suite – complete with double bedroom and open-plan living/kitchen area – offers an excellent additional space for those guests preferring a touch more privacy.

Location

Old House sits high above Agni Bay on Corfu’s north-east coast. Agni itself has a scattering of waterfront tavernas, while more plentiful facilities can be enjoyed in the seaside village of Nissaki to the north or Kalami to the south.

The journey from Corfu airport takes around 45 minutes.

Eating

The outdoor drinking and dining areas at Old House are stunning and spacious. Tempt your guests with mouth-watering aromas as you cook up a feast on the brick-built barbecue, then gather everyone under the vaulted ceiling of the al fresco dining terrace beside the swimming pool.

If you do find a reason to stay indoors, there’s everything you need to self-cater in the kitchen, including all modern appliances, and the kitchen also has a dining table with seating for four.

You’re also close to the waterfront tavernas of Agni Bay, known for their delicious seafood, and it’s easy to find excellent local eateries all across the island.

Kids

Old House’s layout offers excellent flexibility for families. One family could take the main villa, with a younger family enjoying the extra privacy of the separate suite. Or, make the main villa an adults-only affair and let older children have their own space in the separate suite.

Whichever way you choose to work it, kids of all ages will adore days spent splashing around in the private infinity swimming pool.

There are lots of child-friendly beaches within a short drive.
