Description

There are private swimming pools, and then there’s the private swimming pool at St Arsenios Estate: a wow-factor curve of shimmering waters that seems to float high above the cypress treetops and the blue-green Ionian Sea.

Like the serene property itself, the swimming pool is carved out of the rocky hillside. It also features a separate hot tub area and sits surrounded by a smart wooden deck where you can lazily rock the afternoons away on the hammock swing or snooze on a lounger under the shade of a huge parasol. That’s not even the extent of the outside space at this unique luxury villa: a large al fresco lounge comes complete with hanging egg chairs, and a series of steps leads you down to a sea-level deck for secluded sunbathing at the water’s edge.

After your breath has been taken away by the outdoor areas, venture inside and you’ll be greeted with an elegant series of tasteful blue-and-white and pastel-hued spaces. There’s a distinct French country house feel, and character pieces – like the brick decorative fireplace in the lounge – add a homely touch. The three double bedrooms range from princess-like with pastel pink fabrics to soothing whitewashed spaces with vaulted ceilings, and you’ll find a fourth bedroom in a separate studio. Bonus rooms include a spacious gym with cardio and weights, a steam room and a slick all-white TV lounge.

Location

St Arsenios Estate is located on a steep hillside on Corfu’s north-east coast. It’s close to charming Agni Bay, where you’ll find a handful of waterfront tavernas. More plentiful facilities can be enjoyed in the seaside village of Nissaki to the north or Kalami to the south.

The journey from Corfu airport takes around 45 minutes.

You’re also close to the waterfront tavernas of Agni Bay, known for their delicious seafood, and it’s easy to get out and explore the island, stopping off at enchanting local restaurants that pique your interest.
