When my parents met in Le Grand Nord, Val d’Isere, on their ski seasons in the 80s, my obsession with all things mountain was destined. Having grown up spending every winter season in Val d’Isere, and every summer season galloping horses across the Cotswolds, whether it’s down a snowy mountain or up a grassy hill, being the speediest has always been the goal.
After school, my taste for adventure led me to study University abroad in the Netherlands and in Venice. I used all my study leave to backpack across Europe from Copenhagen to Mallorca and soak up the sun working at music festivals in Berlin.
After returning to the UK, I have worked in a diverse number of client-facing roles in Sales and Front of House Management. After realising it’s much easier to sell things I already love, I joined Firefly Collection to employ my local knowledge of the Alps to select the perfect slope-side chalet so you can focus on carving your way down the mountains.
Les Bords Du Lac in Hossegor. This is such a special villa for multiple reasons, but I honestly think it’s just so cool! Looking out onto the white beaches surrounding the Marine Lake, a vibrant colour palette, an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture and plenty of fun, surf-themed artworks make this the perfect spot for an action-filled summer beach break.
Definitely Selva Val Gardena. Skiing the Sella Ronda has been on my snow bucket list for too long now. And it gets more bluebird days than any other resort in Europe – what’s not to love?
Probably using a mono-ski to ski three-legged with a friend. Seemed like a much better idea at après the day before than when we were attempting to weave around ski schools strapped together.
Don’t be set on going to one location. Sometimes clients are convinced they want to go to a resort just because they have read about it in a book instead of being the best place for them! At Firefly Collection, between all of us in sales we have visited the resorts, stayed in the chalets, skied the pistes and danced in the bars; so will know which resort will suit you best and why!
Le Petit Danois in Val d’Isere. I have spent more time than I want to admit dancing on tables in there.
Chalet Grace in Zermatt. This Chalet really does feel like a home away from home. The cosy interior and five-star service mean you are guaranteed to have the most amazing trip. And the views over the village and the Matterhorn really are unbeatable.
Val d’Isere. I am biased but it really does just have everything. Great off-piste, well connected slopes, speedy lifts, lively après, high altitude and – most importantly – Mum’s apartment (free accommodation).
All starts with the first lift up, skiing non-stop until around 3pm eating a squashed baguette sandwich out your rucksack at around 12 to keep you going. Then spend the rest of the afternoon sitting on a sunny terrace sipping Aperol and listening to live music before bumbling back to town to enjoy a glass of red in a cosy wine bar and enjoy a fondue.
