Châtel is part of the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area, which links several French and Swiss ski resorts, such as nearby Morzine. The vast ski area has a good range of slopes to suit all abilities. As well as some challenging runs for intermediate and advanced skiers, there are some excellent ski schools and easy slopes for the less experienced skiers on a luxury ski holiday, too.
Châtel is a little-known French resort which began as a quaint farming village and has grown steadily to become a first-rate ski hub for a luxury ski holiday, brimming with authentic charm. Oak-beamed, Savoyard restaurants compete to serve up the most enticing, hearty regional dishes, and local cheeses such as Abondance, whilst melt-in-the-mouth charcuterie are displayed in charming little shops.
