Sète is a pretty fishing port in the South of France, also known as the Venice of the Languedoc region. Still a busy working port, visitors to Sète can enjoy strolling along ancient working canals, watching the many boats to and fro or soaking up the atmosphere whilst enjoying a lazy lunch of local seafood at one of the many canalside restaurants.
The warm Mediterranean climate makes it a great place to visit year-round; however, visiting in the summer months allows you to make the most of the miles of sandy beaches and the many activities Sète has to offer, such as water skiing, kayaking and sailing. Also worth a mention is the boat jousting tournament, which goes on through the summer to its grand finale at the end of August and the Worldwide Festival Sète, an annual music festival which this year runs from 1-7th July.
