Stylish and modern as well as rustic and cosy, Chalet Centenary is a luxury ski chalet in Courchevel Moriond that’s like having your very own boutique hotel to stay in.

Each of the en-suite bedrooms is designed to be a private bolthole where you can find some peace and quiet, stocked with piles of fluffy towels and robes, the plumpest of pillows and crisp, white linens. TVs in all the bedrooms mean when you need a little time to yourself, you can shut yourself away from the hubbub for a bit of quiet and a nap, and emerge ready to party again and gather with friends. Each of the en-suite bathrooms has a bit of ‘spa’ style, with double basins, huge tubs to relax in and many have spacious showers, too.

The main living spaces are carefully designed for a sophisticated but laid-back feel, with glamorous velvet sofas and footstools contrasting beautifully with rough-hewn woods and stone. There are two lounge spaces – one with a TV screen and one gathered around the fireplace, designed for some top notch chilling with friends. Both are wonderful places to relax, with fabulous mountain views through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The dining area is close by – a midcentury-style table and chairs sit under statement lighting, within chatting distance of the sociable open-plan kitchen and bar seating area, so you can chat to whoever is on chef duty at the time over a glass of wine.

Chalet Centenary is approximately 150 metres from the slopes, so you can be first on the powder in the morning if you wish. When you feel you’ve had enough for the day, you’ll be home in moments, boots kicked off in the ski room and relaxing in the spa area. The Hammam and sauna with Italian-style shower are the perfect place to soothe aching limbs, or step outside for a well-deserved soak in the hot tub. Spend cold afternoons floating in the private swimming pool or catching a film up in the mezzanine TV area before getting dressed up to hit Courchevel or getting dressed down to hit the sofa with a bowl of something comforting and a glass of wine.
