Bathed in sunshine and with outstanding hilltop views, Villa Il Santo is a historic property in a unique setting. The original building dates back more than a thousand years, but has recently been sympathetically and beautifully restored and renovated to become a luxury villa to accommodate a large group of friends or family.
The property comprises of a hay barn and medieval watch tower, linked by a glass tunnel, and a separate pool house that works as a one-bed studio, making this a great property for several families sharing time together. Throughout, neutral colours, authentic finishes and original features, including reclaimed wooden ceilings and terracotta floors, bring plenty of Tuscan charm. And high-end furnishings and top-of-the-range gadgetry such as smart TVs and Smeg appliances, mean you have all the home comforts you could need. Three living spaces, a beautiful dining room and contemporary kitchen form the main communal areas and each of the bedrooms is stocked with luxury bath products, towels and robes to bring a bit of spa style to your morning ablutions.
Outside, the large gardens, heavily scented by roses and jasmine, provide plenty of space to explore, disappear with a book and a glass of wine or simply enjoy the wonderful views out over the vineyards all the way to San Gimignano. In the heat of the day there’s nowhere nicer to cool off than by the infinity swimming pool and, with a pool house, cool shower and outdoor kitchen nearby, you can easily spend all afternoon and evening here, making the most of Villa Il Santo’s fabulous location.
Villa Il Santo is a luxury villa in Tuscany, deep in the Chianti Hills. It’s only eight minutes by car to the nearest towns and villages such as Barberino D’Elsa and Tavarnelle where you’ll find restaurants, shops and a supermarket. A little further afield you can visit Florence, Siena and San Gimignano and there’s plenty of beautiful countryside to enjoy around the villa.
The nearest airports are Florence, 40 minutes away by car, and Pisa, 1 hour 10 minutes away.
