Why Visit Chatel?

Châtel in France is a little-known gem of a ski resort in the Abondance Valley, forming part of the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area which links with Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets and you can even ski into Switzerland. This pretty resort has a traditional alpine atmosphere and with so much skiing, there are endless options for all levels of skier, from the novice to the expert, making it a great choice for those with families and mixed abilities. There are also plenty of other non-skiing activities on offer in both winter and summer.

There are many restaurants both on and off the mountain, offering tasty food and a warm Alpine atmosphere, and they are also very reasonably priced by comparison to other resorts.

Chaletneuf du Tenne, built in a prime position just above the resort, this newly built luxury ski chalet has fantastic views up and down the valley and also benefits from the option of skiing back to the door.  Tastefully designed in keeping with the resort’s traditional architecture but with a contemporary twist, this chalet has given attention to every detail. Perfect for families (sleeping 8 adults + 6 children) – it offers a good-sized indoor swimming pool and as well as the two spacious master suites, includes two family suites with fabulous children’s sleeping dens that double up as TV/DVD hideaways.
