Zurs is part of the extensive Arlberg ski area and has an excellent snow record. There is an impressive array of local pistes, linking it to the higher village of Lech, and is known for its superb off-piste powder, and its challenging White Ring circuit.
A gondola lift with heated seats links the Lech and Zurs ski area with Warth-Schroken in the next valley, it is also possible to reach St. Anton on skis too. Intermediate skiers have plenty of terrain to explore and those wanting to ski off-piste have various options, accompanied with fantastic snow conditions for those powder turns.
Best Places To Eat and Drink
There’s a high proliferation of traditional Austrian restaurants, mostly in the luxury hotels of Lech, but once you’ve had your fill of rostis and steaks there are Italian outlets too, as well as Fux – a contemporary Asian restaurant.
The après and evening opportunities away from your luxury ski chalet are similarly small but top quality. We like Ambiente for après ski and Restaurant Seekopf for a tasty lunch with mountain-top views.
If you’re leaving your luxury ski chalet for your chef’s night off, The Lorunser hotel has a great restaurant and for those in the mood for a late night, head to Zurserl, the club of the Edelweiss hotel for sophisticated drinking into the early hours.
