This luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isère is the last word in ‘cosy’. Chalet Bivouac is tucked away behind the main square in the old town of Val d’Isère, just minutes from the snowfront and the centre of town, so you can be out on the snow in moments and back home with your feet up in front of the fire as soon as you want.
The property has been designed with typical Savoyard principles in mind. The welcoming living room has a roaring fire at its centre and stacks of sheepskin throws on the comfy sofas, making it a wonderful place to hunker down with friends or family on snowy evenings. The dining space, adjacent, has the look of a traditional ‘stube’ with carved wood chairs and a long table just waiting to heave under delicious local dishes prepared by your chef.
The balconies offer a place to take in the mountain air first thing in the morning and, when you return from the mountain, you can head out to the sauna and outdoor hot tub to restore body and soul and warm yourselves through.
At the day’s end, finish your nightcaps and head up to the comfy and cosy bedrooms, where plump pillows, fluffy gowns and slippers await. Each one is a restful retreat of its own where you’re sure to sleep soundly.
