Comfortingly rustic, yet delightfully elegant, too, Chalet Face à Face is a real treat. This luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isere offers a stylish break with all the comforts of home for a large group of family or friends.

The beating heart of the property is the magnificent  living space on the top floor. Cathedralesque ceilings, exposed beams and floor-to-ceiling windows create a dramatic entertaining space that’s a pleasure to sit in. During the daytime, there are stunning views and light flooding into the space, and at night time the room twinkles with lights from the chandeliers. A statement fireplace at the centre of the room brings drama to the entertaining space, which is furnished with capacious sofas, piled high with cushions and throws.

Adjacent is the cosy dining room, which seats 10, beneath the atmospheric floating-candle-style lighting and pendants. Just off the living area is the balcony, which has wonderful views of the snowy mountains and the village; the perfect spot for an after-dinner drink under the stars. Looking out over proceedings is the mezzanine floor, where there’s a TV and comfy sofas; a great area for the kids to watch a film under blankets while you enjoy canapés in the evenings.

You’re so close to all the skiing action here. You can ski in and out of the chalet, but you’re also only a short chauffeured drive from the main lift. And there’s plenty to entertain you in Chalet Face à Face when you’re not on the mountain, too. The lower ground floor is dedicated to entertainment and relaxation. There’s a stunning indoor swimming pool to float in, as well as a steam shower, large sauna and areas to enjoy massage and yoga. After an afternoon spent here, you’ll emerge feeling completely refreshed and renewed. This floor is also home to the private, state-of-the-art cinema room, where you can hold movie nights for the whole chalet. Just ask your chef to sort the popcorn.

At the end of each day, retreat to luxury bedrooms with spa-style bathrooms and layer upon layer of puffy pillows, thick duvets and cosy blankets for a long sleep and sweet dreams; tomorrow will be full of adventures, too.

Location

Chalet Face à Face is located in La Legettaz area of Val d’Isere, conveniently positioned right by Piste M with ski-in/ski-out access, so you’ll never waste a moment getting to the slopes.

Town centre and the Solaise ski lift are approximately 5 minutes drive away, making the chalet ideally situated for exploring Val d’Isère on and off the slopes.

The nearest airport is Chambery which is just under 2 hours drive away. Both Geneva and Lyon are approximately 3 hours away.

Chalet Face à Face sleeps 10 adults + 4 children across six bedrooms.

Bedroom 1:
Double/twin bedroom on ground floor with en-suite bathroom.

Eating

Food and drink are a key part of any luxury ski holiday and it’s certainly the case at Chalet Face à Face. Each morning starts with both cooked and continental breakfast offerings, served by your chef and host, so you can leave for the slopes well-fuelled for the day’s adventures.

When you return to your chalet, afternoon tea, coffee and freshly baked treats are waiting for you. Once you’ve had time to relax, and perhaps enjoyed a dip in the pool and a sauna, pre-dinner canapés and Champagne are served. Meanwhile, your chef will be preparing a four-course dinner in the well equipped kitchen. Dinner is served in the intimate and comfortable dining area, accompanied by carefully selected complimentary house wines.

A complimentary drinks tray (3 bottles of spirits) as well as beers and soft drinks on tap are also available whenever you like.

On the chef’s night off, the chalet’s staff will be only too happy to assist you with restaurant bookings at the best restaurants in Val d’Isere.

Kids

Ideal for those travelling with children, Chalet Face à Face is a family-friendly ski chalet, where parents can really relax, knowing everything’s taken care of.

Your private chef will be able to put together dedicated kids’ teas, designed for younger palates, and served early in the evening so that children can eat in a more laid-back setting and grown-ups can relax and really enjoy their meals post-bedtime. Highchairs – and cots, too – are available on request, and there’s a cute kids’ bunk room sleeping four, that we think they’ll be only too keen to escape to at bedtime.

Getting out on the slopes with children is easy here; you can ski straight out to the slopes if you’re confident enough, but the Solaise lift is only a 10m walk away. When you return, you can simply throw all your ski gear off in the boot room, safe in the knowledge it will all be toasty and dry for you in the morning.

There’s lots to keep little ones busy, too, from the cinema room and TV snug, meaning there’s never a fight over the remote and kids can enjoy a movie matinee on snowy afternoons, through to the lovely private swimming pool, which children of all ages will enjoy splashing in.
