Description

This super-cosy apartment in Verbier is small but perfectly formed. Traditionally styled, with warm wood cladding, stacks of faux fur throws and rustic reds bringing life to a calming, neutral colour scheme, Chalet Hickory is a very easy place in which to relax.

This apartment is ideal for a family or two couples to share, and there’s a clever fold-out bed that can accommodate an extra child in one of the bedrooms. The open-plan design means that whether you are sprawled on the comfy sofas gathered round the roaring fire, seated at the dining table or pottering in the kitchen, you can chat easily to the rest of your party.

Perfectly located, you are literally steps from Place Centrale, so you can make the most of all that Verbier has to offer in terms of eateries and shops. The apartment is self-catered, so you are open to enjoy the local restaurants each night but your concierge can also arrange for Verbier’s food boutiques and delis to make deliveries to you should you be just that bit too cosy to want to venture out some evenings.

A 24-hour in-resort driver service means you can be whisked to wherever you wish within moments, and when you arrive back from skiing day each afternoon, you can soothe weary limbs in the shared indoor swimming pool and sauna, safe in the knowledge that your housekeeper has visited to clean and tidy while you’ve been out. Location

Chalet Hickory is located just off the Place Centrale, right in the heart of Verbier so guests are never far from the action in town. However with a driver service on hand to whisk you around resort and to and from the slopes, getting around is easy.

The nearest airport is Geneva, approximately 2 hours drive away.

Kids

Children visiting the chalet will enjoy the 8-metre indoor swimming pool where they can burn off any energy they have left in the afternoons. The chalet also has a TV and DVD library, Netflix and Apple TV, which should keep them entertained while you catch up on your skiing day over drinks in the early evening. The second bedroom is ideal for a couple with a small child or three kids to share as it has an additional fold-out bed as well as the king-size.

The resort staff will be happy to help families out in any way they can, from arranging anything from shopping to dog-sledging and if you need nannies or babysitters, they can help with booking those, too.

Verbier itself is a family-friendly resort with excellent nursery slopes right in the centre of town, moments from the chalet, so it’s a great choice if you’re travelling with small skiers.
