As stylish on the inside as the views are stunning on the outside, Chalet Shar Pei is a luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isere. Located just 50 metres from the ski lifts, this luxury ski chalet is the perfect bolthole for a crowd of keen skiers, and you’ll never waste a moment getting to the snow.

In the main living space, an L-shaped bank of seating with folk-style cushions and weathered leather armchairs are grouped around rustic coffee tables. The roaring fire in the stone chimney breast is a focal point for the room, separating the seating area from the sophisticated dining space, with statement lighting and ‘Ghost’ style chairs. Décor is low-key and neutral, which, given the fabulous views from the floor-to-ceiling windows seems appropriate – who needs art when you have one of nature’s own finest palettes before you, after all?

Down on the lower-ground floor are the hammam and the lovely swimming pool, with wonderful snowy views out of the tall windows to enjoy as you swim. The perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon following an energetic morning on the slopes.

After an evening of fine wine, food and company, retreat to your cosy bedroom. Chunky wood beds, fluffy towels and super-soft linens combine to create a comforting cocoon that’s conducive to a great night’s sleep. Chalet Shar Pei is conveniently located right on the front de neige, just 50 metres to the ski lifts. The centre of Val d’Isere is also a short walk away

Chambery airport is just under 2 hours drive away, whilst Geneva is approximately 3 hours away.

Eating

Food is taken seriously at Chalet Shar Pei, and lots of thought goes into your chef’s menu, which he builds with your collaboration. From creating the perfectly mixed gin and tonic, to serving a main dish that would make Heston jealous, nothing is too much trouble.

Each morning, a hearty breakfast is served to see you off onto the slopes, and when you return, afternoon tea will be waiting to warm you through and sustain you until dinner time.

On five evenings, your chef will prepare a gourmet evening meal: interesting and tasty starters to whet your appetite, delicious mains, from miso red mullet to lamb shank pappardelle, and a range of tempting desserts for every palate.

Wine lists are carefully selected to match your menus and your chef will be happy to make selections to match menus.

On your chef’s nights off, you’re perfectly located to explore the wonderful eateries in Val d’Isere town centre and the chalet staff will be happy to arrange restaurant bookings for you.
