Granite Mountain Lodge is a luxury ski chalet in Chamonix that provides the perfect base for snowy adventures. Stylish, minimalist but super cosy, Granite Mountain Lodge is newly renovated and ready to welcome you. Decorated using natural materials such as wood and stone, and a calming, neutral palette, the chalet is a wonderful place to relax after an energetic morning on Chamonix’s slopes.

With double-height ceilings and huge windows that frame a picture-perfect view of the mountains, light floods into the rooms. The main communal areas are pared-back and spacious, with plenty of room for everyone to socialise comfortably and there’s always a space to find a little peace and quiet, too. Two comfortable seating areas give everyone room to sprawl with the papers or gather with a glass of fizz in the evenings and catch up on everyone’s day. A long, refectory-style dining table is a sociable space in which to sit and enjoy good food, fine wines and excellent conversation long into the evenings.

On quiet afternoons, escape to the spa area and enjoy the sparkling swimming pool, relaxing sauna and fitness suite. Or kick back in the cinema room with a favourite film and a bowl of popcorn.

A private garden provides a beautiful place to enjoy the fresh air in summer and becomes a magical winter wonderland in peak season. There’s a rock-climbing area for anyone who hasn’t expended enough energy on the slopes, and a fire pit just made for marshmallow toasting in the evenings.

As well as the six beautiful bedrooms, there’s also an annex comprising of two bedrooms and mezzanine area. Together these make up the Granite Mountain Lodge Estate which can be rented at additional cost for larger parties up to 22 guests, or used for your own nanny or other staff.

Granite Mountain Lodge is certainly a very special property, but what really makes it a magical stay is the dedicated staff who are always there to ensure you never lift a finger, and help curate your stay with personalised activities to make every day a new adventure.

Location

This luxury ski chalet in Chamonix is set in a quiet spot just outside Chamonix itself, but only approximately a five-minute walk to the town centre and its plethora of boutique shops, bars and restaurants.

Airport and in-valley transfers are available so that you can always get to where you want to be instantly. The nearest lift is Le Brevent, just three minutes away by car, which has an excellent beginners’ slope, and from there a drag lift gives you access to the entire Brevent/Flegere ski area.

The nearest airport is Geneva, just over an hour away.

Eating

In winter at Granite Mountain Lodge you’ll be looked after by a private chef, who will provide a hearty breakfast to set you up for a day on the slopes, and have a warming afternoon tea with sweet and savoury treats waiting for you when you return. In the evenings, a delicious three-course meal is prepared for you and your party at the inviting refectory-style dining table, accompanied by wines, and there’s also a free bar stocked with premium drinks.

You’ll have one evening to sample the local restaurants of Chamonix on staff day off and your chalet host will be more than happy to make recommendations and bookings. It may be possible to rent this luxury chalet on a self-catered basis in winter, subject to final request.

During the summer months, this luxury chalet is offered on a self-catered basis. A catered option can be arranged on request.  The property has its own contemporary kitchen, kitted out with every gadget you could need to whip up Alpine specials for you and your party. A bar area with stools makes the kitchen a sociable space, where guests can sit with a glass of wine and chat to whoever is chef for the night.

There’s plenty of space to play, both inside and out, and in the private garden there’s even a rock-climbing wall, should they need to burn off any more energy after ski school.

Kids of all ages will love to splash in the warm swimming pool on snowy afternoons, or simply flop in front of a film in the wonderful cinema room with its huge sofas.
