Description
So who is Heinz Julen? And what’s so special about his loft? Well, he’s a Zermatt designer with breath-taking panache, and he created this place as his party pad. Against a backdrop of glass, textured concrete and steel, each piece of furniture in the Heinz Julen Loft is beautifully crafted and mostly designed by the man himself. The double height living area is home to a grand piano and an under-lit coffee table that can be raised to the ceiling. Well, there isn’t the space here to describe every feature, but you get the idea. It is decadent designer heaven.
From Zermatt’s quaint, spellbinding streets you step into the lift to ascend through the mountain to your luxury ski chalet. Perched up high, you have some of the best views of the twinkling lights of Zermatt through your vast windows. As dusk settles, your chalet host serves Champagne and canapés whilst the chef prepares a gourmet, four course feast.
Gradually, you turn up the sound on the music system as the party spirit takes hold. Who can resist the funky vibe of this Manhattan style apartment? – it was made for partying. You don’t even have to clear away the empty bottles and glasses in the morning. Just tuck in to a reviving breakfast and let the staff perform their magic.
The Heinz Julen Loft feels like a design studio, flooded with light and full of original touches such as door handles and chandeliers made from old cutlery and the cantilevered bar. And when it comes to relaxing in the granite Jacuzzi, where else could it be but suspended on a glass mezzanine above the living room? But don’t worry if you get a little carried away with all this self-indulgence, because this luxury ski chalet is also very private. Huge wraparound electric curtains can quickly shield you from the outside world, and the light-filled eyrie doubles up as a secluded sanctuary.
