White Deer Mountain Lodge, in San Lorenzo di Sebato, once a hunting lodge dating back to the sixteenth century, has been painstakingly restored it back to its former splendour by the owners.
Unique in the Dolomites, this charming and cosy retreat will transport its guests to a world apart, in harmony with the nature of the mountains and away from the stresses of modern living. Yet San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is just one hour and forty minutes from Innsbruck airport and approximately 15 minutes drive from the stunningly beautiful Dolomiti Superski area of Plan de Corones, or just 3 minutes by helicopter from the lodges’ own helipad.
The moment you step inside, you’ll feel the charm of the vaulted ceiling, the quality of the fabrics, the elegance of the design and the loving attention given to every detail.
But perhaps the highlight of any stay at San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is the genuine passion for hospitality of it’s owners Giorgia and Stefano, and the authentic mountain experiences offered to guests. Go hunting for wild mushrooms and berries with your hosts, see the cows being milked, chop wood the old fashioned way and learn to cook some of Giorgia’s acclaimed recipes.
The natural philosophy continues to the cuisine too. On the breakfast table you will find homemade jam, and the milk, cheese, butter and bacon are all sourced from the Lodge’s neighbouring farms. Giorgia will treat you to expertly cooked local specialities and the well stocked cellar is full of a multitude of excellent wines from the region.
Luxury, however, has certainly not been overlooked. The finest linen sheets, goosedown duvets, cashmere throws and fine furnishings are found throughout and the lodge features a sauna, Turkish bath and fabulous outdoor whirlpool with jaw-dropping panoramic views across the valley. You can even play a full 18 holes of golf in the garden with complimentary access to a course nearby.
San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is so much more than just a ski chalet and offers a truly unique experience in summer and winter.
