Some hardcore skiers around the Tignes – Val d’Isere area may think lunch is for wimps, but those with a more balanced approach to their luxury ski holiday will not be left disappointed with a huge variety of options available both on an off the mountain.
We love Le Soli, on the mountain between Le Lac and Les Boisses, which serves Savoyard specialities with a peaceful view. Le Panormic sits at ‘the top of the world’ and offers a range of dining options with (on good weather days) excellent views of the Glacier.
For those venturing out of their luxury ski chalet for après ski in the evening, Le Loop is a good option and has a lovely sun terrace you can ski onto and a log fire in its bar area. And Grizzly’s Bar in Val Claret is a warm and cosy stop for après, decked out in furs and hand carved wooden furniture.
Also worth a mention is Couloir Bar, which as well as offering cocktails for a lively après ski session with live music, also has a restaurant serving a menu of French /English fusion dishes.
If the chef in your luxury chalet has a night off, Le Table en Montagne won’t disappoint for dinner. This restaurant within the 5* Les Suites du Névada in Val Claret, offers discreet service and offers contemporary Savoyard cuisine. Meat and fish are cooked on hot stones and brought to your table to be carved before you and fresh bread and vegetables and dessert will be brought to the table to be served.
L’Armailly Restaurant in Tignes Les Brévières is a good option for lunch or dinner. With a sun terrace, wine cellar and traditional French food, you will not be disappointed. A Pizza delivery service is also available within Les Brevieres if you fancy a night in on the chef’s night off.
Also popular is La Ferme des 3 Capucines in Le Lavachet. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and serves well executed simple dishes. In addition to the the popular dishes of Fondu, Raclette, the menu is changeable and presented on large black boards to each table, there is also a log fire in the corner of the restaurant which adds to the cosy alpine charm. Booking in advance is recommended!
