Every now and then you watch those home makeover programs and raise an eyebrow at the designer’s audacious use of space and quirky style. They often do a good job. I am frequently impressed as I suspect you are. They are not, however a patch on some of the luxury ski chalets The Firefly Collection has on offer for you.
Chalet Husky, Val d’Isere
Chalet Husky, for example belongs in a design museum. Every nook and cranny has a little something special to marvel at. Take the glass floor/ceiling above the swimming pool; it is the work of a genius. Each of the seven bedrooms in this extraordinary luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isere has its own quirk and style which, whilst different work beautifully together. There is an indoor atrium with a glass footbridge accessing the main chalet and, frankly so many unusual artefacts and interesting aspects to this place you’ll just have to book up a week to enjoy them all.
Chalet Marco Polo, Val d’Isere
Chalet Marco Polo is also more than just a luxury ski chalet. Palatial and Bohemian coalesce inside Chalet Marco Polo in a manner not seen before. The attention to detail is extraordinary; the chrome dining chairs that sit beneath the most beautiful glass chandeliers; the baths cut from a single piece of granite; the carvings on the ceiling of the spa/swimming pool are mesmerising. There are too many details to mention but if plush chic, classic arty style and enchanting fairytale ski chalets are your cup of tea, then look no further.
Chalet Lhotse, Val d’Isere
The architect and builders of Chalet Lhotse must have had their work cut out when building this luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isere. The intricate structure is truly marvellous. Once you have gaped at the exterior timber work you will step inside to what can only be described as magnificent. The exquisite carpentry continues all around you but the decor and furnishings are what will capture your attention. Beautiful Mongolian furniture coupled with stone fireplaces, faux fur throws and rugs, marble and brushed steel bathrooms and we haven’t even touched on the pool/spa area. Perpetually changing lighting will drop your heartbeat down as you unwind after a long day on the piste in the spa, hamman, swimming pool or treat yourself to a massage in one of the treatment rooms.
