Authentic contemporary style and top-of-the-range tech, marry perfectly in this luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isère. Nestled at the edge of a forest in a quiet spot, yet just moments from the lifts and the centre of Val d’Isère, Chalet 1850 truly offers the best of everything.

On the top floor of the chalet you’ll find a light and airy open-plan living space, decorated in a relaxing neutral palette and natural materials. A vaulted ceiling and huge windows allow the sunlight to flood into the sitting area, which is furnished with bespoke and designer pieces, created with comfort in mind. Squashy sofas and cosy armchairs are gathered around a roaring wood burning fire, from where you can watch the snow fall on the mountain.

Adjacent is a refectory-style table with bench seating down one side. It’s large enough to seat ten of you for leisurely meals, fuelled by carefully selected wines and excellent conversation. The exposed beams and statement lighting give this space a contemporary and stylish look as night falls. The sociable, open-plan kitchen is kitted out with top-of-the-range appliances, perfect for either you or your chef to cook up a storm, and be able to chat to the other guests, too.

In the afternoons, following an exciting day on Val d’Isère’s slopes, you can kick off your gear in the private ski room, with heated boot warmers, and head straight for the spa area on the first floor. Ease slopes-weary muscles in the indoor Jacuzzi and sauna, soak in a luxurious shower and rest up with a drink and a good book in the relaxation area until it’s almost time for champagne and canapés upstairs.

After a delicious meal, cooked by your chef using local and seasonal ingredients, we highly recommend you take a night cap and a blanket out onto the balcony.  Enjoy the stars before heading to one of the luxurious bedrooms, all designed to be totally relaxing and all with spa-style bathrooms perfect for pampering. By the time you’re ready to crawl under a warm duvet and sink into a plump pillow for two, you’ll find your bed turned down, all ready for sweet dreams.

For larger groups, this property can be rented along with Chalet 1855 (subject to availability). Combined, this can accommodate up to 16 adults plus 8 children and accessed via the shared garage.

This luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isère is set within a private development on the edge of the forest, just moments from the centre of town.

It’s a four-minute drive to the heart of Val d’Isère and the main lift area, or three-minute drive to La Daille.

The nearest airport is Chambery, around 2 hours’ drive away. Lyon and Geneva airports are each around 3 hours away.

Eating

Each day at Chalet 1850 begins with a hearty breakfast to start your morning well. As well as a continental spread of fruits and artisan yoghurt, cereals, pastries and breads and regional meats and cheeses, there’s always a delicious hot option, too.

When you arrive back at your chalet in the afternoons, a freshly baked afternoon tea with both sweet and savoury options is waiting for you with hot drinks to warm you through. Then there’s just enough time to relax and change before canapés and champagne are served.

Dinner is a four-course meal served by your private chef, with menus designed with your help and approved before your stay. Dinner is served with carefully selected house wines and beers, spirits and soft drinks are also on tap.

Please note that on the chef’s day off, a continental breakfast only will be served and staff will be happy to help with restaurant bookings too.

Kids

Chalet 1850 is a family-friendly ski chalet with plenty of open-plan space to play. As well as the four doubles, there is also a kids’ bunk room with four chunky wooden bunks for them to sleep in, their own en-suite bathroom and a TV so they can turn the room into a kids’ den, perfect for making great memories.

Your private chef will be happy to arrange for an early kids’ tea with dishes suited to younger palates, all sure to help with earlier bedtimes and grown-ups can then enjoy quieter evening meals post-bedtime.

Nannies and babysitters can be booked on request and your concierge can help with booking ski school and instructors if needed. A cot and highchair are available for very young guests.
