Prepare to be wowed. This luxury ski chalet in Val Thorens has everything you could ask for and a few things you’ve never thought of, too.

Perched at the highest point of Val Thorens, itself the highest skiing town in Europe, and just 10 metres from the nearest slope with ski-in/ski-out access, La Datcha couldn’t be in a more perfect position for snow bunnies (it’s not a bad view straight onto those mountains, either). The chalet is also close to Val Thorens’ best restaurants, bars and clubs.

This is a super-stylish chalet and a great choice for large groups of friends or family with something to keep everyone busy. There are two cinema rooms, where you can catch a movie on snowy afternoons, an amusement arcade with foosball, sim racing equipment and more, a wonderful children’s activity play room where you’ll lose them for hours, ensconced in the toys and games, and a luxury spa with pool, treatment rooms, hot tub sauna and hammam – any aches picked up on the slopes will soon be soothed right away. There’s even a golf simulator, cigar room (with sleek, leather armchairs, of course) and an excellent wine cellar. Truly, they’ve thought of everything you could ask for from a luxury ski holiday.

The communal rooms are spacious and there are plenty of them. Sociable enough for gathering together for drinks around the fire each night, but also plenty of office rooms and quiet spaces for anyone who wants to catch up on current affairs or just curl up with a novel in peace.

Staff are always on hand to ensure you never lift a finger; that your wine is chilled to exactly the right temperature, your massage is exactly how you like it and that every last pillow is plumped to perfection.

La Datcha is conveniently positioned right on the piste, giving ski-in/ski-out access.

Located at the resort’s highest point, the chalet’s enviable position offers wonderful views of the Glacier de Péclet and Cime de Caron mountain from the south-facing terrace.

The nearest airports are Chambery which is 1hr 40mins away, Lyon 2hrs 20mins and Geneva 2hrs 30mins drive away.

Eating

Traditional French cuisine, using only the highest quality ingredients and inspirational menus are the order of the day here. You’ll wake to a delicious breakfast each morning and when you return from the slopes following a day’s skiing you’ll find afternoon tea and cake ready to warm you through.

Your private chef will cook a gourmet dinner for you on six nights of the week, making use of unusual ingredients and flavour combinations for truly memorable menus. If you have any dietary requirements or preferences you have only to let them know.

The chef will also be happy to create an early children’s tea menu so that kids need not be on their best behaviour and adults can enjoy a more relaxed meal post-bedtime.

The chalet has an excellent wine cellar, which is the envy of The Three Valleys. Please note that all alcoholic beverages will be charges for separately.

Kids

Children of all ages will love this luxury family friendly ski chalet. Whether splashing in the swimming pool, enjoying the foosball table and Sim racing or sprawled in front of a film in one of the two cinema rooms, they’ll never want for something to do. There’s a dedicated children’s activity and play room for little ones to run off some energy when they’re not on the slopes, too.

Kids’ teas can be easily arranged and the double rooms can be configured as twins to make life easy for groups travelling with several children.
