Its fabulous location is the perfect setting for a truly memorable get-together with friends or family. Sleeping 14 guests in seven beautifully designed bedrooms kitted out with luxury linens, and spa-style bathrooms, there’s plenty of room here for everyone both to socialise together and find a little peace and quiet of your own.

The living space is what really makes this luxury ski chalet. A huge, open-plan seating area, with capacious sofas gathered around a roaring fire, offers a simply stunning spot to catch up with the rest of your party after a day on Zermatt’s slopes.

Kick back and warm yourselves by the fire while your chef puts together a spectacular evening meal and your host tops up your bubbly.

This luxury ski chalet is tantalisingly close to the slopes so you can be out in the snow within moments in the morning. There are two lifts within 10 minutes’ walk of the front door. And when your muscles start to feel the strain you can be back at Christiania Penthouse in no time, boots drying for you in the ski room and your feet up with homemade cakes and hot drinks by the fire.

In the afternoons, spend a few hours in the fabulous private sauna easing the strains of the slopes away on your luxury ski holiday, or gather with the rest of your party in the cosy TV room for a film matinee before champagne appears and the evening commences. After a gourmet four-course meal, take your wine out onto the balcony and catch the best view in Zermatt – the stars twinkling on over the iconic Matterhorn.

Location

Christiania Penthouse has an enviable position right in the heart of Zermatt, so you’re never more than a few moments from the bustling high street with all its bars and restaurants.

The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car is just 500m away, whilst the Klein Matterhorn lift station and Sunnega lifts are no more than a four minute electric taxi ride away or an 8-9 minute walk.

Zermatt is a car-free resort which has a railway station, so guests often arrive by train.

Geneva Airport is approximately 3 hours drive away.

This luxury ski chalet is part of a residence which houses seven other apartments. They can all be taken together to sleep up to 48 people for larger groups.

Eating

Your chef and host are on hand throughout your stay at Christiania Penthouse to ensure you are always well fed and every glass is permanently charged.

Each morning you’ll wake to the aroma of a cooked breakfast being prepared. For those who prefer a lighter option there is also local yoghurt, muesli, cereals and freshly baked bread with jams. Whatever you choose you’ll be well set up for a morning’s skiing. On your return, afternoon tea is served, with tea and coffee and home-baked treats to warm you through.

There’s just enough time to unwind in the sauna or take in a film before Champagne and canapés are served and the kids sit down to an early supper on your luxury ski holiday here. Then you’ll gather round the huge dining table for a four-course feast all accompanied by hand-selected wines. The wine list is extensive but if you have any particular requirements your host will be happy to get in any specific bottles in for you at additional cost.

Please note that the staff have one day off a week and your host will be delighted to make recommendations or bookings for local restaurants.

When taken on a fully catered basis, the chef works out of the professionally specified kitchen in the Residence building and your dedicated host serves you in the privacy of your own apartment.

The apartment can be also be taken on a self-catered basis if you prefer, giving you the flexibility to set your own schedule on your luxury ski holiday.

Kids

Children are made especially welcome at this luxury ski chalet. The chef will prepare any little ones a special tea each evening that will appeal to tiny tastebuds and tempt even the fussiest of fusspots, allowing the grown-ups to enjoy a quieter and more leisurely dinner post-bedtime.

For those bringing a baby, a cot and highchair are available to make packing that bit lighter, and nannies and babysitters can be arranged on request too.

There’s plenty to keep children entertained in the property. They’re sure to enjoy movie nights in the separate TV room. This luxury chalet’s open plan spaces leave plenty of room to play, too.
