Description

The cosiest corner of Chatel awaits you. Chalet Yeti is a great big, furry bear hug of a property, decorated using local materials, in rich woods, neutral shades and natural textures such as linens and leathers.

The heart of this welcoming, luxury ski chalet is the open-plan living space. In the middle of it all is a wood-burner, bringing light and warmth to every corner of this huge space, with vaulted ceilings and tall windows. Several huge, squashy sofas provide somewhere to sit and chat in front of the fire with a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings.

Adjoining the living area is an open-plan kitchen, with everything you could need for a luxury self-catering ski holiday, as well as a small bar area with stools, looking out of the window, that’s perfect for a quick breakfast on your way out to the slopes. In a little nook off the kitchen is the intimate dining space with a farmhouse-style table and cushioned benches for you all to snuggle round for a relaxed evening meal, accompanied by great conversation and a few bottles of fine wine.

The snug provides a second living space with leather sofas, a small library and a TV, so you can gather for a film or tuck the kids away with some cartoons while you enjoy evening drinks. In good weather, head out to the terrace, which has outdoor sofas and parasols for sunny days, or perhaps book yourself a masseur for the afternoon, post-ski, and enjoy a massage in the privacy of your luxury bedroom.

All the practicalities have been thought of, too, from the ski room with boot warmers, to the ample parking, all of which just help to make life at Chalet Yeti a little easier. Grab a drink and a throw and cosy up on the sofas with us.

Location

Situated close to the village centre, this luxury ski chalet in Chatel is super convenient both for skiing and enjoying all this resort has to offer.

The chalet is approx. 200m from the Petit Chatel ski lift and the village centre is only a ten minutes walk away. There is a free bus which stops 50 metres away from the front door and parking for four cars.

The nearest airport is Geneva which is approximately 1 hour 40 mins drive away.

Eating

Chalet Yeti is a luxury self-catered chalet in Chatel, which is still an active farming town and, as such, is brimming with markets and shops selling local cheeses, charcuterie and more.

The modern kitchen is very well appointed, with all the equipment you could need to cook for yourself and your party, and has a sociable bar area in the window, where you can perch with a drink and chat to whoever is ‘chef’ that night. Adjacent is a cosy dining area, with large farmhouse-style table and wooden benches, ideal for intimate meals with friends.

A pre-arrival fridge-stocking service can be arranged and charged for separately, meaning you won’t have to shop when you arrive. You will, of course, be welcomed with champagne on your arrival.

If you don’t have time to cook, you can make use of the chalet’s evening meal delivery service and you can pre-order wine from Yeti’s own list. Chatel also has a great selection of restaurants, and the chalet’s staff will be happy to help you with recommendations and bookings.

Kids

This family-friendly ski chalet has a bunk room that sleeps two kids, with full-size single beds, to accommodate all ages. The bunk room shares a bathroom with bedroom five, making it ideal for a family to share.

For those travelling with very young ones, Chalet Yeti can supply baby equipment such as cots and highchairs. With the additional pre-arrival shopping which you can arrange, you can also pre-order nappies, wipes and other baby bits to the chalet to save on suitcase space.

The outdoor terrace provides space for kids to play in the fresh air, and on snowy afternoons after ski school the library/TV room is the perfect place to pop them on the sofa with a film and some popcorn.
