Eating
At Rocca Penthouse, food is taken seriously. You’ll be looked after by a private chef who will be in touch with you prior to your stay to discuss menus for the week.
The menus tend towards the light and fresh, using interesting ingredients and creative techniques, but what you eat is entirely up to you. Whether your group prefers comfort food on the sofa or gourmet vegan dishes every night, you have only to ask.
Breakfast is served each morning, with cooked dishes such as poached egg and avocado on toast, through to good old bacon sandwiches, as well as healthier options such as Greek yoghurt with compote and puffed quinoa. When you return from the snow, an afternoon tea of homemade cakes and bakes, as well as savoury options such as charcuterie platters are spread out to welcome you home.
On five evenings, your chef will prepare a gourmet evening meal: interesting and tasty starters to whet your appetite, delicious mains, from miso red mullet to lamb shank pappardelle, and a range of tempting desserts for every palate.
Wine lists are carefully selected to match your menus and your chef will be happy to make selections to match menus. There’s also an in-resort fine-wine supplier, so the host can often source any favourite bottle you request in advance. On one evening, your chalet host and chef organise a champagne and canapé reception, which lots of people enjoy on their first night, but is also a lovely way to round off your week or celebrate a special occasion.
On your chef’s nights off, the staff will be happy to arrange restaurant bookings for you. Val d’Isere now has two Michelin-starred restaurants so you’ll never be short of somewhere for a fabulous meal.
